The NFL just announced that they have ruled against Seattle, in the Hutchinson dispute. Meaning, the Viks will more than likley get him because they have offered him a ridiculas amont of gaurenteed money that Seattle will not likly match. How this affects us is they have more money to spend and are right now a main candidate to get JP. Just my opinion, anyone else think this hurts us?

money speaks...it all depends if the Vikes have LB as a need. I wouldn't go spending money just for the sake of it

No, this should not hurt us, as Walter Jones restructured his contract so that they can resign Hutchinson without his contract being guaranteed.

It isn't about the Seahawks...its the Vikings...now they have all that unspent money.

oldfinfan, i think you are confused, i dont mean viks want him, they r gettin hutch, but this means seattle who wants jp isnt getting hutch which gives them more money to throw at jp. sorry if i wasnt clear

branflakecereal, nfl just announced seattle has to match it w/ gaurenteed money, which means they prob arent going to resign hutch, my question is not resigning him will give them extra money to throw at jp, do you think they are now the fav to get him.

Hm, I hadn't considered that point, but I do believe the original poster was under the impression that the Hawks would be the ones after Peterson.

If the Vikes get him... well, I guess I could live with that. They've gotten screwed over plenty already this off-season, they're due for a break. Although with the smack Childress has been talking, I'd rather not see him get it.

Ultimately, I think Saban's connections with Peterson do a lot to landing him on our roster.

conflicting reports, then...look below

Kevin Seifert of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Seahawks left tackle Walter Jones has agreed to restructure his contract in a manner that arguably enables Seattle to match the offer sheet signed by guard Steve Hutchinson with the Minnesota Vikings.
