There's always the opportunity of us taking a Mason Crosby in the 3rd round or maybe Jason Wedlock or whatever in the later rounds...but if we leave Mare and we don't draft a kicker, who's there?

Since Josh Brown is now off the market, I heard Rian Lindell was on the market...and Paul Edinger is probably sitting on his couch somewhere eating Cheetos

Who would fancy your kicking needs if Mare does indeed leave the building?

ther are 3 or 4 kids we could draft and we would be fine.

mare has got to go, we need consistensy, especially since it's so few and far between when we are in scoring range.

We just signed Kimrin or someone else back on the squad, right ? Not saying he's the top option, but at least a stop-gap until we either sign someone or draft somebody. Sorry, but O.Mare is not worth the large contract he currently has. Real simple, Mare either needs to re-structure his contract or hit the road. There are a lot of decent unemployed kickers out there to think you are untouchable.

I know someone else will say this, so I'll get it out of the way -

"What about Vanderjagt?"

f**k naw. We don't need Me-shawn the kicker.

i am 100% in favor of drafting Justin Medlock, 6-0, 185, UCLA (L). that kid looks good and we should be able to lock him up for awhile at a good price. if he is available in the 6th then take him. if not, hope we can find a undrafted FA to compete with the guy on our squad already.

i am just not that in favor of spending big money on a K unless he has proven he is clutch (e.g. adam v.). are the vet Ks available that much better than a rookie or some guy kicking in NFL E?

I don't think Mare is going to be released.

And if he isn't I think we have an obligation to riot. His consistent inconsistency is absolutely crazy, I understand wanting to remain loyal to a guy but he has failed to do his job as of late.

mare is not going anywhere,if you kick long enough in this league your going to have some ups and downs, your also gonna bounce back like many kickers do,,there no denying that mare is one of the most talented kickers in the league and is still in his prime, just look at what he did in his last game for us against indy,,that was a clinic he put on,he was five for five on field goals and 6 for 6 on kickoff touchbacks,,it was truly an unbelievable game for him.

If we let Mare go, we will pick up somebody with the same problems. I say lets just keep the guy

draft Justin Medlock UCLA!!! i watched him at UCLA and the kids money, nice lefty with good strength and accuracy.

Or we can always wait a few years for Ryan Succop from South Carolina. What a name for a kicker "Succop"!
