MERGED: Interviews With Assitant Coaches

One thing that was interesting in the Scott Linehan interview was that he said Gus has no edge in the QB competition.

Wow...anyone who hasn't seen this, take a seat and enjoy. We are so far from the inept one dimensional team of the past. When Houck and Linehan say this is one of the best coaching staffs they have been a part of, thats big time respect. Anyone who thinks this team can't win more then 8 games better WAKE UP!!!

Can anyone post interesting highlights for those of use you can't listen?

thanks!

Linehan says ..."You are what you emphasize."

There will be a deep passing threat in every read. The system will continue to be balanced...more like the Vikings offense of two years ago.

Houck thinks that Vernon Carey can be a good left tackle. Wade Smiths best position will be at Center. McKinney is doing well at center. Hadnot can play center or guard equally well. James is the first candidate that he listed as a potential leader (also mentioned McKinney, Hadnot, and McDougle).

Dude listening to Linehan get excited about chambers, McMichael and our offensive weapons and schemes is getting me excited...Houck saying Carey has alot of potential and has the stuff to be a starting LT...awesome...Wade at C is best suited for that position...and Rex can play either G or C...This tight knit line can be a "pretty good" line...cant wait to see more of what this "Dolphins Offense" looks like and how he'll utilize Chris and Randy in his schemes...About the big time respect about this coaching staff...it should be respected...i was reading all the bios i could get on our new coachs...alot of history and experience...Saban brought half of his crew with him but only to be assisstant coachs to the NFL experienced coachs like Muschamp is to Richard Smith...Tim Davis assist. O-line has a long college coaching record last two years with USC i might add...and now hes assisting Hud Houck.....if anyone can get an Oline to play together its these two coachs...you got to have a heck of a head coach to lead these coachs and players...Nick Saban is a proven winner everywhere hes gone...he has moved up the ranks to NFL Coaching...he reminds me of Dick Vermiel in how he got started as an NFL haed coach with the Eagles...I saw his In thier own words on NFL Network...Saban is going to do good things with this team. I'm just enjoying the ride.

DEFENSE:

The defense is still in the "Teaching Stage" of installing multiple defenses. The core design is to stop the run and defend the middle of the field.

Crowder has been getting work on all three LB positions and on nickle defense.

Smith also said he hasn't seen a D scheme like this since his early days with SF when they were in the SB every year!! He also said he hasn;t ever worked a for a D-minded coach and he jumped at the chance to work for Saban.

Wow...thats interesting stuff. Kinda makes you think...Wade Smith and McKinney have been ripped to shreds by most of us here (especially me). If it turns out that they are both talented players, and McKinney even a leader, then just how bad does it reflect on Tony Wise, and to a degree-Wannstedt, that they couldnt do anything with them?

Houck got me very exciting when asked about last year, he said I don't care about last year, I don't know what those guys were trying to do, but we have some very good talent on this O line. It was if he was saying I don't know how they played so bad with the talent we have,..but this year we're going to win some games...that got me fired up..Now it's up to the players.

:fire: OH YEA BRING IT ON AFC EAST!!! :yell:

There's a lot to like about our coaches and team this year. It may take a little longer than we might hope, but in the long run, I think it will pay off BIG TIME!!!

Muschamp looks 12, and has the same approach as Saban when talking to the media- tight lips. He seems knowledgeable though, and is basically tutoring Smith.

Am I the only one that found it funny when Richard Smith would answer a question after Muschamp with "I feel the same way"? :lol
