yea i was wondering the same thing, nowhere in the other stories did it say a 2006 second rounder, and this says 2007. i like the trade either way, but it would be better if it is a 2007 pick

Vikings spokesman Tom West confirmed the deal, but did not give specifics. Several media reports say Minnesota received a 2007 second-round pick in return.

they are the only ones. everyone else says its this years.
 
Local Minn. paper (Star Tribune) is saying the same thing, but they are just quoting other internet sites.

I would assume (and hope) that it's some sort of a conditional pick. If he doesn't play at all in 2006, that would have to lower the value. I can't imagine Nick and Randy would make this move without covering themselves a little bit.
Therefore, 2007 sounds a little more logical.
 
If its a 2007 pick, that makes this an awesome deal, our 2007 2nd rounder will be like a 3rd. I am a happy man.

This would please me greatly. Since I don't expect to get much out of Daunte this season, neither would the Vikings get anything from us.
 
Well at least its next years 2nd rounder, maybe we'll be in the playoffs and that will be like a high low 3rd round pick =0)
 
the herald, ESPN, the Pioneer Press, NFL Network, the Sun-Sentinel, PFT, CBSSportline, and about 90% of all other media outlets are saying its an 06 pick. I really hope they are all wrong.
 
WOW, so Saban saves a 10 mil bonus, 10 mil a year, gets a higher rated QB, does not lose a pick this year and some people still complain!?!

btw- What's the green for?
