First of all, I am grateful Miami got their first W under their belt…I hope there are plenty more to come.

I was so excited when the year began I thought we were going to KICK BOOTY right from the get go with Daunte leading the way. Then the 4th quarter loss to Pittsburgh, followed by the loss to Buffalo led to me becoming a Daunte basher. It seems there are two types of fans on finheaven now. (1) Fans that bash Daunte (me) and (2) fans that bash fans that bash Daunte (Daunte lovers).

Over the past week expressing my opinion has led to Daunte lovers to tell me I am not a “true†Dolphin fan because I don’t give “ataboys†to #8. I even had one poster threaten to right on my forehead with a sharpie. I have had sharpie nightmares ever since. And I had to get rid of all the sharpies in my house because I go into pen panic attack every time I went into a room with a sharpie in it. I would uncontrollably go into the fetal position and cover up my forehead. Please “sethdaddy8†don’t write on my forehead. I am sorry.

All the harassment, I mean arguments have shown me the error of my ways. So I have decided to go to the dark side, I mean enlightened side and support Daunte and become the self-appointed President of the Daunte Excuse Club. I was hoping you could help me compose a list so I will be well prepared for anyone that says Daunte is not playing well. So far I have read it is not Daunte’s fault because:

It is the O-line’s fault.
It is Mularkey’s fault.
He has to worry about the fans rioting right now so can’t concentrate.
Not enough fans showed up to support him.
It is the secondary fault for putting him in a position to have to try and carry team.
Buffalo is much improved over last year.
It was ring night in Pittsburgh and that kicked in with 5 minutes to play in the game.
He is rushed back from injury.
His 91.9 QB rating against Buffalo proves he is a great QB.
Miami never would have beaten Tennessee if he didn’t rush for TD.
He played poorly last year because of the O-line.
When he played poorly in Minnesota it was because Tice didn’t coach him like Brad Johnson.
He had to play against tough defenses.
His hands are too small.
He lost Moss.

Please if you can think of any other excuses, I mean reasons it isn’t Daunte’s fault please add to it. All I know is it isn’t Daunte’s fault, it isn’t Daunte’s fault, it isn’t Daunte’s fault...

It isnt Dauntes fault that there are 3 defensive players in his face before he has a chance to finish dropping back....

Quick question to everyone who says 'Just throw it away'

Within the tackle box and no way out, where do you suppose he should throw it?

There are a number and I mean a number of times he has had PLENTY of time and held onto the ball while WR's are open.

Everything is misfiring with this offense.
Culpepper included.

it's also kind of hard to throw when there are only two recievers because everytime randy is in the game he has to block, leaving chris and marty double teamed whenever he does have time to throw

anyone who understands football can see that the offensive line is the problem. even brady would look like crap behind this line. a qb must have time, and must have a running game. name me one qb that is amazing with a horrible o line. i ask anyone who thinks daunte isnt the answer.

OK, sure that's it.

Over a receiver, out of bounds. I mean, he does have one of the strongest arms in the league.

Even Brad Johnson can throw it away within the tackle box when there's nothing down field.

I have been one of the ones bashing you, and I feel it is my responsibility to do so because I am what you call a "true fan". A TRUE FAN supports the players on his team, ESPECIALLY the qb. Daunte may not be perfect, but he has had immense pressure almost every play and needs time to gel with his receivers, those are simple facts not excuses. If you don't like the players on this team, find another. OTHERWISE, KEEP YOUR CONSTANT, NEGATIVE, WORTHLESS COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!:fire:

I just wish people would stop trying to blame all of the team's problems on one person....

1. Fiedler
2. Wanny
3. Feeley
4. Spielman
5. Frerotte

Now Culpepper.

Rarely is it one player's fault when a team isn't playing well.

I'm not saying Daunte may not turn his game around BUT for all of you saying the OL is the only problem here, you're talking with your hearts rather than your head or just not watching the games.

Daunte on many occasions has had time and still couldn't get his head out of his arse. Both are playing inconsistent and neither the OL nor Daunte gets a pass here.

Yes its the o-lines fault most of the time, but when Duante actually had time to throw the ball (he did at least 5 or 6 times) it took him forever to get rid of it. I just remember saying over and over "Get rid of it Duante, get rid of it." Has anyone noticed that he also rarley ever looks in the direction of Chambers, And McMichael only has six catches. Seriously, lets cut the bs. Our o-line looks bad, but when we do give him time, its not like he is making great plays. At least Ferotte looked in Chambers direction and had the balls to throw it to him. Chambers can make plays. One positive note: our last pass play of the game yesterday on the third down completion to Welker was our best looking pass play of of the day. From the blocking to Duante's check down. Hopefully we can build on that. I'm not ready to throw him under the bus yet. But if we can't beat the Texans soundly next week, I may reconsider.

The guy's got a huge contract.

You'll be hearing those excuses for a *long* time. Get used to them.
