A source close to the situation confirmed the Broncos were trying to acquire quarterback Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots by dangling Cutler, their Pro Bowl quarterback.

The trade talk infuriated Cutler, who now wants to leave the Broncos.

The source said the proposed trade was a three-way deal that would have sent Cassel to Denver to reunite with former Patriots offensive coordinator and new Denver head coach Josh McDaniels, Cutler to Tampa Bay and compensation from Tampa Bay to New England.

Joshy, WTH were you thinking???

Jay Cutler is on the block...

I wouldn't be opposed to offering out first and our second for him. He has one of the strongest arms in the NFL, is super accurate, and he can manage the game well. He did throw a lot of picks last year, but that was mainly due to the lack of a consistent running game with all of the injuries they had. Imagine Cutler throwing bombs to Ginn. It would be amazing.

:rolleyes2:

I just read on ESPN that McDaniels tried to trade for Cassel and they were going to send Cutler to Tampa Bay. I guess Cutler is upset about it and wants to be traded now since McDaniels burned his bridge with Cutler.

Honestly... I would trade penny and some picks for the kid... but that is just me... I play too much madden.

Actually his name was brought up by McDaniels somehow as being available for the right price during the Cassel discussions. Pizzed Cutler off to a point where he allegedly did ask to be traded and was told no. At least that's what the radio guys are saying. So McDaniels is off to the same sort of stumbling start as Little Kiffin in Tennessee. I guess for some, with age comes wisdom. Looks like Denver will have a disgruntled Cutler on their hands this season.

Me? I'd package Pennington or Henne and our 1st and 3rd - or 1st, Ricky and 4th for Cutler in a heartbeat. He's the real deal.

See a sensible person. Cutler is fast and he can throw extremely well. He's awesome. LETS GET CUTLER!
