MERGED: Keep an eye on L. Johnson to Patriots

Called that one yesterday. I said they can turn a piece of $hit into gold.

No chance that happens. He's a turd, never mind used up.

Per BB last night:

"Asked during his weekly appearance on WEEI if the Patriots would consider bringing in Larry Johnson, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs today, Belichick replied simply: "I would doubt it."

they already have four RBs. I would think the Jets are a higher probability since Leon is out for the year.

based on his Penn State connection and present need, I see Andy Reed stepping up to sign him.

Patriots interested in L.Johnson?

ESPN 7 am pst. Schefter reported the Patriots amoung other teams are interested in former Cheifs runningback Larry Johnson. This is another "potential" weapon that the pats will have that could be dangerous.

John Clayton was saying pretty much the same thing on ESPN radio last night, in that it would be beneficial for a guy like Larry Johnson to end up there. He referenced Corey Dillon, whom the Patriots also took in and got a good year out of. A lot of teams thought Moss was done and not worth the aggravation. The Pats seem to be able to rehab the "head cases" better than most. But Clayton ended by saying the most likely destination for Johnson was the Texans.

IDC, I'm more worried about our team and he isn't on it. I think we need to worry about ourselves right now and not what everyone else is doing. Just my humble opinion.

this is WHY they win.

when they see REAL TALENT, they go get it.

they dont lean on excuses like "head case", "cancer". etc.....

larry johnson in the pats offense would UNSTOPABLE!

when motivated, larry johnson is one of the top 3 rb's
in the nfl. and you can bet that he will be DAMN motivated
there just as randy moss was.

now, what the dolphins SHOULD do if they were TRUELLY on
a winning course? bring him in. cut whoever is on the bench
and give him ALL THE CARRIES THEY CAN for the rest of the season.

when the season comes up, trade or release ricky williams and trade
ronnie brown for whatever. he still posses enough hype to gather a
draft pic of some kind.

draft a promissing youngster with speed and power. come start of season
you have a MONSTER back in LJ, a fresh, new youngster and HOPEFULLY,
a returning, hungry patrick cobbs.

the biggest thing as of now? keep LJ as FAR AWAY from the pats as possible!!

Are you like a chiefs homer?

I would hate for us to have him..

Ur right, Larry Johnson was a top 3 back.. 4-5 years ago.

Hes averaging an amazing 2.7 entire yards a carry.

If he were on our roster, i'd have him as 4th string behing ronnie, ricky, and cobbs.
