I don't agree.

That MB would be a drop in the bucket of negativity. Hardly worth shutting down for that reason alone.

As far as them being able to control some of the negativity, the message board would be one of the only ways they could get a grip on it. They have no control over the media and radio, so maybe they are cutting it where they can. But in all probability it is the pics of fecal matter and porn.

As a former member of the MD.com board i can tell you. I know that speculation is easy to do,but please allow someone who has been there to explain. The board had great fans.Who have since migrated to other forums. I do not post here much. However i doubt anyone has seen me be negative. The problem there,was about four guys who constantly went at eachother. They were childish and immature. Couple that with the consistant political debates that were going on even after the Mods shut them down. Most of this happened in the offseason. The board its self was shut down 3 months ago with a tag placed saying a new improved board comming soon. I can only guess that the staff on the forum did not have the time to ban the stupid posters there and clean it up day to day.It is a sad testiment to the posters a few, who ruined it for those of us who were loyal fans.

as a matter fo fact, I TOLD YOU that I was only concerned about your reputation because you keep making inflammatory or innaccurate statements...(like the post above) ( and the one above that) (and the one before that) (etc....etc....)

I'm trying to keep others from going after you, by nipping any missunderstandings, on your part, in the bud. This way you can be corrected and not have to invite anyone else up to section 448, when they get tired of your nonsense.

I think you do a fine job of moderating the posters around this forum. The question I have is why it doesn't always seem to be consistent.

A few days back, you came down on me because I said "Feeley sucked", which is my opinion and I should have NOT used that tone to express my feelings (although I did state reasons as to why I felt this way on a different thread). But this particular post was just flat out feeley sucks, and you said that I had "no sense" or something to that effect, which is fine. I took it with a grain of salt and to be honest I should have more intelligently stated my opinion.

The problem I have is, and unless I'm mistaken, posters make inflammatory statements such as I did all the time. Especially directed towards Wannstedt and Fiedler. They don't state that they "suck" with specific reasons.

It just seems like alot of: Fiedler sucks because he has big ears and Wannstedt sucks because he just does.

I think it's great if mods bring the hammer down on this kind of stuff.....I just think at times it's inconsistent. Again, I think you are doing a fine job, I just wish there was a little more consistency.

OK.Since you frequented the chat room Ill accept your opinion.The endless poilitical banter has ruined a couple of boards.That why its so important to have full time moderators.Kudos to Finheaven for being able to control it.

Hey Dolfanreal69, good to hear from you. I miss a lot of the guys from the Dolphin mb, especially Dice and Run to Win.

I understand the frustration of the organization with political topics and trolls on the Dolphin's board, but shutting it down was just rediculous, especially after promising a new board all summer :shakeno: Lots of us old timers on that board had requested a simple "Off Topic" thread for handling the political discussions that kept the forum going during the doldrums of the offseason, yet they refused :fire:

Personally, I don't think that it is mere coincidence that they chose to remove the board after the rockiest offseason the Dolphins have experienced in over a decade, and with the way the season has started, it doesn't surprise me that they decided not to re-institute it :shakeno: The sad thing is that there were some posters over there that had outstanding football analysis skills and true depth of knowledge about the game and how the Fins were really doing...the kind of stuff you wish you could get out of local media outlets and in game announcers. Taking that board away was really a poor decision, and it really makes me :fire: :fire: :fire:

volk - i agree. there were many good fans on that board and all of the off topic comments werent even that bad. i think a forum isnt only to discuss your love for the team (or hate for the team) but to also meet and mingle virtually w others who hold the same interests as you.

i dont think its any coincidence the board is gone and weve had such a sucky offseason (and perhaps on LOL)... it really says a lot about the organization and where its priorities are and are not.

It's a matter of SEEING ALL the posts....I just try and "help" when I see something.

Otherwise, under each persons user information you'll see a little red triangle with and exclamation point....if you click on that.....it takes you to a page where you can report something that you think is inappropriate....It is a great help to the mods when people use that because obviously they can't read EVERY thread made.....I know for a fact that they appreciate the "help"

You know what happened to that forum?

Some Jet Fan trolls or Bills Fan trolls or Patties fan trolls got in there and started posting pictures of Fecal Matter and porn and they had to shut it down.

That is what happened...some class these people have.

It seems their is a lack of tolerance for fans with less than rosy opinions about the state of the team. I'm glad that this message board does not censor dissent.

I think its rather interesting at perhaps the lowest point in this teams history excluding the early expansion years that they choose to shut it down now.

Kinda fits right in with their whole sensitivity about negative press and such.

What Wayne needs to realize is the answer to these problems is removing the morons from his team and hiring a top GM to in turn hire the next head coach, shutting down the message board is not gonna change how people feel.

You and everyone else is entitled to express their opinions on this board. The Mods only step in when it becomes personal or it crosses the line.

To many people on this board violate the TOS on a daily basis. Read them and you will be surprised at how often they are violated.

The Mods do a great job - but it is up to us, the Posters, to keep in mind the TOS when we post. There are children that also read and post on this board, and they should not be subjected to some of the language on here. Trying to circumvent the filter is not necessary either - the filter is there for a reason.

Follow the TOS - I have no problem reporting anyone who is in violation of the TOS. I do it on a daily basis!

If you can't get your point across without attacking another poster, calling another poster a name, or without using profanity, maybe your point is moot.
