My main reason to say NO to Mularky...

He doesnt run the ball on the goal line... Ask any Bills fan...

I couldnt stand it when we did that this season... And I dont want it to continue.

Umm, you wanted Linehan to stay, correct?

May I reference you to the ending of our games at home against the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots???

Yeah...

Saban would not let that happen again. Mularkey is a good choice and would be a good fit for us.

That is not what I wanted to hear.

But if I recall correctly, he didn't really have that problem in Pittsburgh, did he?

The first TD the Bills scored on us this past year in Buffalo, Willis McGahee was given the rock from the 2 or 3 yard line.

Trust me guys, Saban will NOT let Mularkey throw three times from the goal line.

Mularkey is a genius at creating missmatches. Imagine what he can do with Chris Chambers, Booker, McMichael and Welker through the air.

I don't even have to tell you who we have in the running game...

My impression was always that he was a pretty balanced guy. And what I liked about his balance was that it wasn't vanilla... he is willing to hit the extreme ends of smash mouth running all the way to deep patterns.

And balance is what I really want.

But all I have of him is an impression. I am not a Mularkey expert.

I seriously think you would not see that much of a difference from Linehan to Mularkey.

However, I think Saban has had his fill of 3 throws from the goal line. He will not let that happen again.

But you are correct about balance when it comes to Mularkey. He is good at that, and good at creating missmatches.

I've been on Bill fans all year telling them MM wasn't the problem. Lack of talent and lack of a good GM is what killed the Bills. But you know those geniuses...it's all MM. If Saban says MM is the guy, who am I to argue?? I think MM will be happy to have talent to work with again to be with an organization thats run correctly and headed in the right direction.

Because his offense starts with the running game, and he's still agressive down the field. We would not lose that element of our offense with Mularkey.

Saban is the head coach, not Mularkey. Saban would have the final say, however, Saban could use Mularkey's offensive expertise. Mularkey is great at creating missmatches. Imagine Chris Chambers being lined up in the slot again, versus safeties and linebackers.

Imagine Randy McMichael being open on 3rd and short against slower defenders than hisself.

Bills fans laugh and say that MM passes the ball too much and ran too many gadget plays. Well, if I recall correctly, Scott Linehan got lambasted by the fans and media early this season for passing the ball too much, especially on the goal line. Then, when Saban roped him down to the sideline and took more control of the offense, we scored 29 points a game and went 6-0.

Mularkey can be used in the same way. He is an offensive mind just like Linehan.

What types of formations/schemes does his system use?

 Am I getting tested?

He runs single back with 2 tights and 3 wides at times. Just like Linehan.

We are deep at TE and WR. Mularkey's system would work.

na... just curious. I dont know lots about his systems and schemes.

All I do know that he has had problems throwing on the goal line, and also passing the ball with a lead instead of running out the clock (see the comeback game)...

Oh, I totally understand some Dolphins fans' concerns about that game. But, be assured...

You cannot judge a coach, much less an OC on one game. MM was trying to be agressive against us with an 18 point lead.

Many on this board would have shalacked Dave Wannstedt for running too much and sitting on the lead in that same situation.

MM is agressive, while at the same time basing his scheme on the run. And what could be better with Ronnie and (maybe) Ricky in the backfield?

Also, Saban would not allow us to throw the ball 3 times on the goal line. I think he's had his fill of that from last year.

After watching the Colts Steelers game.....it is apparent to me that Mularkey's offense is the way to go....

Now how did I draw that parallel you might ask.

Success in this league, for the most part, is based on the physicallity of your team. when Joey Porter exclaimed that the Colts did not like to line up and play smashmouth football, he was right. And when faced with a team that punched them in the mouth...the Colts couldnt handle it.

As much as I would like to have a guy like Martz as OC, it is the run first and setup the long pass play that really defines a physical team. A team nobosy wants to play..because they are gonna get beat up from our offense..as well as our defense. Hard hitting knock the snot out of their nose football doesnt have to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust like Wanny ball. But its does need to start with a hard runnning foundation...and when they are getting weary you need to open up a can of lightning fast whoop *** with the passing game.

Thats the type of OC Mularkey seems to run. In essence its the offensive version of Saban's defense.

Wel neither does Linhan so we should all be happy lol. Mularkey was coordinator when Pittburgh had the number one ranked offense in the league. Hire him now.
