Hey, other than the 2004 season we were much more competitive than this, and Fiedler is head and shoulders above anything we had since he left, just look at his winning %...
I think there is a bigger plan with Saban and I don't think he expected to do as well as last year and pull out some of the games we did this year .... 2007 and 2008 will determine whether Saban can turn this franchise around or not.

you had RW in his prime and anything is better than Mularkey.

Here's the deal....

With Wannstedt and Fiedler we were a middle of the road team, and we peaked there. Everyone knew that we could never win the Super Bowl with that team. With Saban, we are building a team for the future. I think once Daunte comes back and plays to form, we will be a top team again.

We never made the playoffs with Ricky Williams buddy.

It's eery how Jimmy, Wanny, & Nicky all were defensive guys that basically were only as good as there offensive coordinators. When we hired Nicky I was depressed because I wanted Charlie Weis but he already committed to Notre Dame. Jimmy crashed & burned with Kippy Brown. Dave with... I forget. Nickster with Malarchy.

Miss Wanny? No way

Miss Jay? Yeah, I guess a little bit.

I think we all just want to win. At this point in the year the only thing that'll make me happy is to see the Patriots exit the playoffs as early as possible. Now THAT is something I think we can all agree on...

Because Wanny was handed a bunch of talent and had one of the best running backs in the league and now Saban is trying to fix our problems and the cap situation.

I remember that time that Wanny and Fiedler took us all the way!!

...

Then again, I don't.

Because it never happened.

The sad thing is that we'll never know what could have been in 2002 when they started 5-1 and went to Denver and won that game with Mare's 52 yarder. That was the game that Fiedler broke his thumb and then Ray " I am a Jet trying to truin your season" Lucas came in and dropped 4 out of 6 games. They were on pace for home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. I still don't have much confidence that Wanny could have won the big one but we'll never know for sure.

It never happened and was never gonna happen. The end of 2002 season was the proof in the puddin'. The quick starts were fool's gold. No, I don't miss Fiedler and Wannstedt. This fan here is ready for the future not remembering a regime that ultimately failed.
