Merged: OL Drew Mormino Cut & Long #77

We could of used a guy like mormino to step up. Lets hope Julius Wilson will prove he can be a solid backup to get some depth for the oline even though he plays tackle atleast hes a body, we are pretty slim across the oline depth wise.

Interesting very Interesting, This one is straight out of Left Field. Can't wait to see who will backup Satele. Im thinking the kid from Delaware, I believe his name is Mike Byrne 6-5 303 pounds.

Byrne is a Tackle...

I'm pretty shocked by this, I really thought he would be in competition with Thomas and Murphy to start at Left Guard. Oh Well, I guess it's Murphy's job to lose now.

At least Jake gets his number 77 now! :)

They have Byrne as a Center on the official site. I dont see Murphy or Thomas backing up Satele. I think Murphy will start and Thomas will backup Smiley. We dont have any depth behind our starters. It will be real interesting to see if we sign a Vet like Barry Sims or Shane Olivera. I see our starting line like this:
LT:Long
LG:Smiley
C:Satele
RG:Murphy
RT: Carey

so we are celebrating that one of our draft picks has officially gone down as a failure?

I'm a little confused.....

my apologies...I was thinking of Dan Gore....your right....:hi5:

Big deal, wasn't he a 6th or even a 7th round pick? I trust Sparano's judgment a lot more than mine anyway, especially when it comes to the Oline.

Not a real shock there as Mormino lacked size and strength and may be injury prone. He failed his physical so he probably would've spent 2008 on I.R. or the P.U.P. List anyway. Parcells is fed up with all of our injury prone garbage.

amazing how last years draft has changed in perception in a year. so far only every pick is still questionable or worse with exception being Satale.
