:lol: Friggin biggest coaching staff in the history of the NFL.


...And no, that does not mean Mel Phillips is gone. Mel is the whole secondary coach. But in Saban's system, safeties are very, very important. So I guess he felt they needed a coach just for them.

Jesus, we have a Safeties coach now? How long until we have an assitant-assistant-assistant offensive quality control coach? :lol:

No, I don't think it means that Phillips is gone. I do think this may be Phillips' last season, but it doesn't have anything to do with these hires. If Phillips' does leave after the 2006 season, I think Saban will replace him with a more qualified coach and not Smart.

Like Al13 said, it is good to have Daniels' old coach back. :)

If he is just hired as the S coach, then he prob won't be coaching Daniels at all. I expect some, but mostly towards Schulters and crew. Does anybody else notice that we have two assistant DL coaches now? :lol:

If we can get us some good corners in the FA and draft, then I see why not.
 
kirby smart is a quality coach. he knows alot about football in general thats why he can coach safeties and running backs and more im sure. he is going to have an impact i think. his intensity stood out to me and he could become defensive coordinator one day
