They just said that Parcelles has a clause in his contract that if Wayne sells the team he can void his contract, and if Ross takes over and Parcelles leaves Ross could look to replace Ireland with Carl Peterson of the Cheifs...WTF???

losing the Tuna would suck big time, but having Carl Peterson take over?

I would be physically ill

That was known beforehand. Parcells contract is for 4 years and stipulates that Wayne will own controlling interest for all 4.

I have a feeling that one of the things BP was doing when we were wondering what he's been doing is meeting with Wayne and Ross and agreeing to everything that's been happening before they ever did it.

I saw it. I don't know where Mort pulled this story out of his azz. We all know Huizenga will likely sell the team to Ross before the year ends to avoid the taxes, but to just say, "Parcells may decide to leave and take $9 million because of this," is pure speculation. Why would he leave? He lives in the area and the Phins haven't accomplished anything yet....other than being about ten games better, but we haven't won a thing. I don't see Parcells going anywhere.

it is what it is, Mr. Ross has alot of money and owns the team soon, he would be nuts to change the structure of this organization, if parcells likes it here he stays

It's not about what Ross wants. It's about what BP wants, which is not to work for a Jerry Jones type owner. I am completely not worried about this.

if I'm Ross I'm agreeing to be as hands off as Huizenga and reassuring Parcells in every way that it will stay like this.

It's all preliminary. While it is certainly possible, Mortensen never once indicated that he had inside information that suggested that Parcells would do this. All of it was speculation at this point. This is one where I think we should just wait and see.

we've talked about this here when WH said he wanted to sell the team...Mortensen is late with everything...this is total BS

By the way Pro Football Talk.com touched base on this months ago

Anyone who thinks Huizenga was a bad owner is a complete idiot and has no clue how good an owner he was. He spent lavishly for all players and coaching staffs. It's not his fault we have been bad for so long. It is because of him, that we are good today. If he didn't go after Parcells aggressively we would be complaining about Sham Shameron and Trent Green. He brought big names in, that all the fans wanted in Jimmy and Saban. He shelled out the dough. Wayne was NOT a bad Football owner one bit...

If this were to happen(which it won't), and he decided he just wants to get away from football, it would be fine. As long as we keep his disciples (Ireland, Sparano), we'll be fine.
