Q Hey Jeff, Any insight as to why the Dolphins cut Kelly Campbell? I thought he was finally healthy. Thanks Shawn, Arlington, VA 7/08/07

No, Shawn. Not yet. However, I agree the timing seems a bit odd on this one. The Dolphins weren't up against any deadlines to trim the roster, so it definitely made me immediately question other reasons why this move was made. I've been told it had nothing to do with any off-field problems, such as an arrest. Campbell apparently was equally surprised about getting waived. I don't want to speculate into any reasons, since it wouldn't be fair to Campbell, but I will say he has become known as quite the talker in the locker room and the field. Maybe it would have been wiser for him to keep quiet (and let his playing do the talking) for a little longer than he did. But again, I have no idea whether attitude or skill level played into his departure.

We don't need any trouble makers on the Fins

Hmm, could it be because of his support for Culpepper?

I think we have a winner! he was probly going to snitch on the organization at the grievance.

that's just not fair .. callin' him a snitch.. and how would cutting him shut him up anyway? he may have whinned and cried for daunte, IF he did, but that doesn't make him a snitch...

first off, i was half kidding... but i also didnt say that cutting him would shut him up... if its true he's supporting Dante in anyway such as snitching at the greivance or instigating a rift in the locker room in support of Dante, then cutting him would at least send a message to others showing the same allegiance to Dante over the team.

Cutting him for that would just be extremely unprofessional and wouldn't stop him from saying whatever he was going to anyway.

Yes, but you can understand Miami's reasoning. This isnt just because of a player, there are millions of dollars at stake here in terms of not only DC salary, but the monetary value of a draft pick as well and if Campbell would snitch, in turn costing Miami millins of dollars, yo can understand why they released him

im gonna go ahead and assume the worst. Kellys been known to be a big fan of the cheebah.

Hakim probably just beat him out and Cameron felt that it was very easy to see that so it was best to cut him now.

well i am really not happy about this because unless we get another vet receiver our wr corp is not that impressive yet. and two injuries and we wil be in trouble. but hey if the guy is doing something that is uncondusive to team harmony then let him go to the jets and i am sure he may do just that.
we dont know whether or hagan will be better in game situations . he could very well be a star but i am not expecting it just yet.
am I the only one that thinks we should draft another wr next year? of course i think a cb, dt, and two olinemen and a te should be priorities as well.:kick:

Seems to me Mueller/Cam are determined to rid themselves of as much of the previous staff as possible.

Good, the previous staff over the last 3 seasons has led us to a whopping 19-29 record. Time to start fresh and new
