Prisco finally has good things to say

This was posted on CBS Sportsline today.

  • Until the summer, I had never really spoken much to Dolphins coach Nick Saban. I had written a column ripping him and his like about his media policies last spring -- I did ask him about it at the combine last February -- but I had never really met the man until attending the Dolphins camp in July. So when I went there I went with an open mind, even if I didn't agree with his nitpicky media rules. When I left, I came away thinking he would have Miami in the playoffs in three years and in the Super Bowl a short time later. That's how good a coach this guy can be. He reminded me a lot of Tom Coughlin, who coached the Jaguars when I was the beat guy covering that team, both pains-in-the-*** to deal with, but both darn good coaches. Now I'm convinced more than ever that Saban will win. To see his team going into San Diego last week and beat the Chargers is validation of the guy as a head coach. Give him another year or two to accumulate talent and the Dolphins will be in the thick of things in the AFC. Of course, they do have to get a quarterback. One more thing about the Dolphins: If anybody out there really thinks Scott Linehan isn't a good fit as an offensive coordinator, look at last week. He made Gus Frerotte look like he's the real deal. That's magical, folks. :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

Prisco is an unadulterated moron.

Linehan didn't get Gus to run for his live for 17 yards, or to escape a sure sack and hit Booker.

That performance's credit goes wholly to Gus.

wow ! he must have gotten a hold of some of that eggnogg that i made up . seriously i think once we get another good draft under our belts we will be making noise.

just think my people, of how good we could be if we landed brady quinn, a.j. hawk or the huff kid from texas. woooo hooo eat my shorts chris berman.
:ri: :bry:

It's not a bad write-up. Gus definitely deserves credit for an outstanding performance. He has been playing better as of late but let's not forget that he has been mediocre at best if you consider his performance over the course of the season.

Ya, but this is the same bonehead that believes Mike Peterson should start at ILB, and Zach Thomas isn't even on his list of Reserves.

Everyone always complains that Miami doesn't receive good press from the sports writers , than when Pisco does write something positive, he is called an idiot. Why?

thanks for the post. That's nice to hear err or read.

Because Prisco IS an idiot. You only have to read his column weekly to figure that out. He's not part of the media, he's a clown with a third grade education who writes his columns in crayon.

Just because he says something nice about Miami doesn't mean we should start listening to him.

Because he doesn't cease being an idiot when he writes something pleasing to us: broken clock, and all, ya know ...

Definitely.

Now if we can get three more good performances and get his rating up to about 78 for the season.... purely mediocre.

Right?

I think he's pretty unprofessional for making a big deal out of the whole limiting the media thing. He needs to get over it, it has no bearing on the guys ability to coach the football team. He says Saban is a pain in the a#$ to deal with, but he seems fine at the press conferences and every other time I've ever seen him.

I also don't really like the comparison to Coughlin. I think he's a good coach, but Saban is not a dictator type like Coughlin. He's a control freak, but it's a different style IMO.
