Prisco is a friend. And he hates the Dolphins chances in 2009.
"They're a 7-win team," Prisco told me.
They'll beat Atlanta in the opener, I responded.
"No way," he retorted. "Atlanta is a 10 or 11-win team. Take that to the bank. And they have a quarterback."
The Dolphins have a quarterback in Chad Pennington and a backup in Chad Henne, I told him.
"Pennington has a lollypop arm," Prisco said. "The Dolphins should just bench him and put Henne in and get it over with. I like Chad. He's a nice guy. But he can only get them to a certain level. They need to go with Henne."
Prisco is no fan of the Wildcat offense, either.
"You know the definition of the Wildcat?" he asked before answering his own question, "You have no quarterback."


Also another note with posting...
"Donald Thomas is working plenty during contact drills, and looks like an absolute monster. There's no comp if he's healthy. But Thomas downplayed his performance on Tuesday telling me he made plenty mistakes, and is still rusty."
 
So basically Prisco is saying Miami has no quarterback. Maybe Prisco should review the 2008 season and he will see that Pennington had a stellar year(better then Matt Ryan by the way) and was second in league MVP voting. Prisco has always been a hater. Wouldn't be surprised if he posted on these boards as Wagon Circler.

Armando is not a Dolphins Fan.
 
It really is pathetic when a so called sports reporter can't give respect to a player played lights out last year. Does Penny have to be a Manning or Brady to get respect, I'm not saying he's HOF but he's better then atleast 20 other starting QB's.

M.Ryan had a nice year hiding behind that run game but never won a game without Turner running for atleast 100 yards. Penny threw to a bunch of nobody's and help make a 3rd string TE into a future star. No matter what deficiency Penny has in arm strength you cannot deny he's a great QB.

I hear what you are saying but throwing Ryan under the bus does not help your point. We could argue that without the wildcat Pennington would not have had as much impact although I disagree. Ryan was one of the best rookie qb's of all time and he has as much to do with his success as any other factor.
 
I really don't know why people still can't give Pennington credit after what he did for us last year. With a very sub par offensive supporting cast (Ronnie Brown nursing himself back from injury, mediocre receivers) he had a top 5 all around season amongst quarterbacks last year. Between his efficiency, yardage, poise in big situations, game winning drives and hard work he was amazing. He was an MVP candidate and it was an atrocity that he did not make the pro bowl.
The guy gets hated on because he doesn't throw 60 yard bombs and you get simpletons like Prisco making cretinous comments like "Miami doesn't have a quarterback". You know who has a great arm? Kyle Orton. How's that working out for him? Prisco is a moron.

Well you know the pro bowl is a popularity contest. Rivers also was screwed as was Slaton.
 
Most of the people I've talked to, are very extreme in their opinion with the Dolphins. Some people say we'll shock the league and finish 14-2, some say we'll lose em all. "It was a fluke". This prediction is right in the middle of the two.

Some think we'll suck, some don't. We do have a recent history of not doing well after a decent season. But I'm a believer in this '09 team. It feels special.

We'll do well.

the dumb & dumber prisco/hackmando conversation was boring & useless. turner, ginn & bess just might make a very good receiver corp, finally. what is he talking about we ran to the right more last year? i thought it was to the left. Atlanta's defense is going to suck much worse than even last year.
 
Pete "The Prick" Prisco. We all know he is a fin hater. This is no news to me.
