R&R Express - 40/188 for 4.7 avg!

Currently 32 for 145 yards for a 4.53 average.

Not bad. Gives some confidence for next week to keep the R&R express rolling!

This is also before garbage time. That could go up a lot!

Yea, about time..I enjoying phin football for a week.

Ah Ronnie got stuffed there. That skews it a bit.

35 for 142 yards now for 4.06 yards per carry.

This is actually great because this team can run the ball down a teams throat and we don't tire out our running backs ala Tampa Bay or past Ricky Williams.

IMO ricky needs to go, if ronnie could get the ball 25-30 times instead of just 12, the offense just wont run and we will stall on offense and keep kicking field goals and punting

The running game is doing great. The reason were kicking field goals is purely Gus Gus Gus.

I hope this is a good example that the rushing attempt stat in relationship to who wins the game is NOT merely a residue of who leads in the 4th quarter. That is an ongoing lazy fallacy that I've tried to dispute for 15+ years. The rushing attempts early in the game influence the physical aspect of the game and therefore who is likely to win.

In another thread I posted at the end of the first quarter that we had 11 rushing attempts to 4, and that normally equates to victory. At that point the score was tied 3-3 and we hadn't won a road game. But our proper early emphasis dictated this apparent result.

I have read your comments about this and I would not only agree but take it further, it demoralizes and wears the d down and with our two guys they can go to the house at any time. Can you imagine how tough we could become with a decent qb?

Nice average especially for a Dolphins team behind this line. Very nice to see.

The line really isn't that that bad...

Absolutely. Also with better offensive linemen. I have confidence in this regime and both of those will come in time.

Our problem right now is there will be many games in which our running game is stuffed early in the game, simply because our offensive linemen are outmatched. Saban and especially Linehan need to realize at that point you've got to keep running it. If you don't, the other team WILL run it often and that wears down our defense as the game goes on. You can't forfeit the physical aspect of the game via your own flawed and impatient philosophy.
