Get Rid of Ricky!!!

Is it me or am I the only one who thinks we should trade Ricky. It seems like everyone thinks that he should stay. In all honesty the Miami Dolphins are not a solid enough team to have two "super-stars" at the same position. I know some of you may think that Ricky is better than Ronnie but IMO you are wrong. Ronnie is younger, stronger and just as fast or faster. In the games where Ronnie was doing well he got a lot of carries. From what I have seen Ronnie is great and will only get better in years to come. We should trade Ricky for a few reasons:
1. We will get the best value of him now; he is not getting any younger and has only 2-4 years left. He has just come off two huge 100+ yard games.
2. RB market could get hot with the Seahawks probably signing Alexander and James getting signed hopefully. And unless you are the top 2 pick Bush is out. If you are a bad team picking high DeAngelo Williams will not give you value at the pick and if your a good team in need of and RB, Ricky is a better choice because he is a veteran and is more ready and is proven. The better teams closer to having a full team will only need 2-4 years out of a guy before their time runs up. They dont like to wait if they have a team that is close. Off the point, but that is one of the reasons, I think, a QB was not taken in the Wannstedt-Speilman era. They thought it would take to long to bring a Qb up before the defense would get too old.
3. With a second or late 1st:eek: they Fins could have an extremely solid team for the next 5-7 years. Or maybe Ricky for Culpepper, something of that sort.
What do you guys think?

What do you think Saban's DEMAND will be for Ricky?

Saban said Surtain would go for no less than a 2nd Rounder, and he didnt budge from that stance. KC coughed up a 2nd Rounder on Draft Day Eve.

So, what do you think Saban's line will be on Ricky? 2nd Rounder as well?

I think Ricky is worth more. Offensive players are generally worth more.

As much as i love ricky and as much as i want to keep him u made a good point and Ronnie will be good hes young now give him time, also we could get something out of ricky now, u were right ricky is at his prime now and he does not have many years after this so if we get rid of him we could trade our draft pick and ricky for a better one or ricky for culppepper like u said so i agree as much as i like Ricky tho

i hope we don't trade him unless it's packaged with something else. those straight-up pick for player trades are best when dumping salary, but let's face it, we need to use ricky as something more than that. trade up for a QB, or possibly include him in this culpepper trade that's rumored about

He very well could because we are not up against teh wall cap wise like last year. Last year even with teh cap in trouble he got what he wanted for Surtain. I think he could ask for a 2nd for RW, and the way he has played and his low salary mean he may not mind if we are "stuck" with him another year. Imagine the worst case scenario having 2 superb backs!

I'm in favor of keeping him. He is worth more than any team will be offering.
I want Saban to ask for a first rounder considering we spent 2 first rounders for him a few years ago, but realistically I think a 2nd Rounder.

if we could trade a pick and Ricky for a legit QB, then we have to pull the trigger even though Ricky's the man.

Call me crazy but it will either be a 1st or a combination of picks in the 2nd/3rd round area.

I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a young stud QB like Rivers. Otherwise he can stay right here. Ricky is a stud, Ronnie most likely will be, a second round pick may never be.

I agree. Ricky may be my favorite back in the league, but we have too many holes on this team to have 2 star backs. Well said.

i say keep him if we dont get offered a 1st or 2nd
I don't think you have to worry about Saban taking lower than a second for him. He's in a position to ask for what he wants because the cap will be fine, RW is cheap, and keeping him would be fine too.
