Dolphins | Williams' hearing moved
Mon, 10 Apr 2006 12:17:08 -0700
Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports agent Leigh Steinberg said the NFL hearing for Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams concerning alleged substance abuse was moved to an undisclosed location in New York Monday afternoon, April 10. Steinberg said he was not sure how long it would take the NFL to decide upon the appeal, but expected a decison before this month's NFL Draft.

I just watched Jason Cole on ESPN news and he was asked several questions about the Dolphins,

About Ricky:
He thinks Ricky loses his appeal, He doesn't even think think there is a small chance Ricky wins his appeal and Ricky is done for the year.

Lavar Arrington:
About a 10 to 15% chance Lavar is a fin.

Joey Harrington:
Nothing new, Joey really wants to be a fin, but the Lions want a fourth and the best Miami is willing to do is a 6th next year.

Daunte Culpepper:
Says he happy as can be to be a fin and doesn't think Daunte brings much baggage with him since his case was dismissed, Cole thinks Daunte will be happy for the year but isn't sure how happy he will be once the time comes to pay him the kind of money he wants.

We as fans seem to be much more optimistic about the fins upcoming season then Cole seems to be,IMO.

Jason Cole is the epitomy of idiocy...the guy is a horrible reporter and nothing he ever says has ANY credence to it whatsoever.

He is never right about anything....AND he is the most unconstructive ,negative, critical Dolfan in existence.

I always thought he sounded knowledgeable until today when I read that Ricky will almost certainly face SOME punishment, because the league didn't want to set precedence in drug suspension cases. Precedence? Now, I'm just a humble cpa, certainly not a legal scholar, but why in the fark would there be precedence at all in what was supposed to be a confidential matter, Jason?

I disagree...Jason is a Herald beat reporter with his own forum...he's asked for his opinion very frequently and he says what is on his mind...he's supposed to be neutral, so just because he works for the Herald and lives in Miami, does not make him a die-hard Dolphin fan...actually, his honesty is good for the rest of us...some of us fans have a tendency to bury our heads in the sand and refuse to hear "the other side of the story."

Jason is also the guy who kept saying we would end up with Drew Brees. Till this day, I'm still pissed.

In this case, being wrong was good...we ended up with the better QB...you should be happy for that.

If you are pissed at him for this, then you must be pissed at a lot of other people...there was more speculation during those days than you can shake a stick at...Jason was saying what he felt based on what he knew.

I take alot of what he says as just his opinion and put no more value on it that I would anyone elses opinion on here. Maybe in the Wanny era Cole had his hookup's in the Dolphins organization, but since Saban arrived no one in the press has more knowledge about the workings of the organization than the fans do. I think as a matter of fact that Saban would be more open with fans concerning questions about the state of the team than he would be with reporters. Those who attended the Season Ticket Holders event this past weekend stated that Saban was more open with them than with any reporters... so when Jason Cole talks about the team, I don't put much belief in it until it's official.

I'm still pissed off at the guy for high fiving Salguero(sp?) a few years ago with the Fins didn't make it into the playoff's, it's one thing to be unbiased and another thing to cheer against the team you report on.

Yeah, if you are a homer you would think he's the better QB. I already had won my arguements many times before, and don't need to prove and take out the statistics I used before. Been there, won that.
