One factor in center Samson Satele's up-and-down play (according to the Dolphins' thinking) is that he played all season with problems in his right shoulder and was diagnosed this month with a torn labrum. He had recent surgery and should be fine for next season. Satele (295 pounds) and the Dolphins want him to bulk up -- he's shooting for 305-310.

Maybe he isn't done at center after all.

well,we shall see,but i still don't think he's the type of Center for the offense we want to build and run...

huh? is it just me, or did anyone else know about this during the season? An OL playing with a torn labrum is almost just as bad a a QB playing with one. The rely on teir shoulders just as much as their legs

this is a big revelation and really could have had a negative impact on the guys' performance this season. i am ok with anatomy and physiology but not sure of the exact impact of a torn labrum, i'll look into it though. anybody have some knowledge of the injury and care to share.

Could this possibly just be an excuse? Did this come from team doctors? (although if its the same doctor who diagnosted Dumbte, it isnt worth ****) How much can we trust this report?

With this startling revelation, how trustworthly or accurate can it be.. We didnt hear anything about this during the season... Unless Sparano is now playing the Bellicheck, injury report game, and had us all fooled... Not that I disagree with it, as long as we keep winning

A torn labrum doesn't excuse you to just stand there and look around or miss your assignment or look like you're lost. Or maybe it does. :ponder:

Well we also just found out a couple weeks ago about Roth having a torn groin the last 5 or 6 games of the year as well.

So, yeah it seems that guys that were getting hurt were either afraid to tell the coaches or the coaches didn't disclose it to the media when it happened.

I dont get this post, what subpar season? You mean not telling us because 2007 was a subpar season?

I probably didn't word that correctly. I mean that after Satele lowered people's hopes for him with a so-so year this past season, the fact that he was injured now raises peoples hopes that he only had a so-so year because of the injury.

So they just now figgured out it was a torn Labrum?

I had a partial torn labrum in my right shoulder back in 2004, from throwing a football around....I heard a pop but didn't think much of.....my shoulder just kept feeling sore but I thought the pain would eventually go away. I ended up getting surgery about 4 months later on it, but my shoulder still hurts quite a lot. Hopefully he recovers from it. You lose a lot of strength and flexibilty and it is a pain to rehab your shoulder. I wouldn't mind us drafting a Center and moving Satele to RG.

it still doesnt give an excuse to when i yell at him for not getting into people, not picking up stunts and blitzes.... basically many plays of not blocking a single person. he looks lost at times.

REhabbing shoulders suck..I agree. I got a 3rd degree A/C separation playing in the last game of the season my Sophmore year. My god did it hurt.
