He'll make sure of it - once he gets a chance.

But coaches aren't about to unleash Schlesinger, one of the NFL's most bruising blockers out of the backfield, on the Dolphins' defenders during training camp.

"We're going to have to fit it in a few times, but we're not going to do 12 isolation blocks in a row," said Schlesinger, a 12-year veteran signed during the off-season from the Detroit Lions.

"We're not going to kill each other to death."

Running behind a retooled offensive line and without Schlesinger to escort him, tailback Ronnie Brown has looked a bit tentative and been pounded by Zach Thomas and Co.

"It's been pretty tough," Brown said. "They've done a real good job clogging stuff up."

Nicknamed "Anvil Head," the 6-foot-1, 246-pound Schlesinger has made a name by clearing out traffic for the running game. He was the lead blocker for Nebraska's 1994 national championship team and for Barry Sanders with the Lions.

This guy is gonna be a solid pick up for us and our version of Lorenzo Neal.

they are knocking ronnie around, why can't he make some holes since the reports are all about a dominate D?
Those will be some violent collisions I doubt they want 100+ head ons between Zach and Anvilhead.

"We're not going to kill each other to death."

Talk about a classic quote right there... sounds like a Yogi-ism!

haha the guy has broken over 100 facemasks just in game situations...he sounds looks and acts just like I would want my fullback to sound look and act. :D.

schles is awesome i cannot wait to have him busting defences wide open for our running game, i rekon he is one of our best pick ups in the offseason by far.

Sledgehammer! I cant wait to unleash the fury of the 'Sledge. Ronnie will finally have some real blocking in front of him.

With a name like "Anvil Head" I'm glad he plays for us.

With names like Anvil Head and Juggernaut, how can we go wrong.:sidelol:
