Merged: Shula on the Fins/Saban best since Shula

he was with miami for 4 years, saban will be better than he was trust me

Agree!! bUt Jimmy knows how to draft!! he did it in Dallas and Miami!!

Saban had 1 good draft thus far!!we will see if the 2nd draft is goood!

Crowder Brown and Daniels IMO are great picks!! We will see with this year draft

JJ's success in Dallas were really a result of Minny's gift choices to him...when you have that many higher round picks, how can you go wrong ??
In Miami, he had a lot of picks, but they weren't the higher round guys. JJ's problem was that while he could pick a Dback or LBer, he didn't have a clue on the offensive side of the ball. I still can't forgive him for sending the Wanny Curse on us though....

Saban's talent evalution process is yet to be determined, but he was very successful in the short term with last year's draft. If he is half as successful with this years' draft, well that will go a long way in proving his worth as a GM and coach...

JJ Drafted Emiitt Irvin, Aikman Allkinds man!! JJ IMO is a draft Guru!! Esp In later rounds
JJ was probably the most overrated coach to win the SB. And he most likely wouldn't have accomplished that if he hadn't been able to sucker the Vikings out of two years of top draft picks in the Hershel Walker trade. I'll admit that unlike the Rams in the Dickerson trade, JJ used the picks wisely, but he wouldn't have had so many in the first place if it hadn't been for the stupidity of the Vike's management. And with so many picks, he could afford to gamble. Furthermore, with every good draft pick for the Dolphin's defense, he probably made an equally lousy one for the offense.

Ugh, enough of the JJ love fest in here please. That guy sucks, and he set our franchise back for years. Did he draft well? Sure... that doesn't make up for everything else he did wrong though.

Back to discussing a good coach, Nick Saban.

I would pay JJ a million dollars to run my draft if Saban wasn't here of course.

I also liked Jimmmy J!! HE built that stellar D with GArdener zach Sam mad ETC

Football is played on both sides of the line of scrimmage. JJ failed this team by doing a lousy job drafting offensive players.
JJ came in with a lot of hoopla, but never came close to living up to the hype.
When things got ugly at one point (following the loss to the Broncos in the playoffs) he wanted to just quit. Marino talked him out of it.
I lost a lot of respect for the guy after that.

Aikman was the consensus top pick in that draft. Only a clueless idiot could have missed on that one.
I'll give him credit for Emmett Smith.
Michael Irvin was already there (drafted by the late great Tom Landry)

Jj Was A Great Coach He Wasn't The One Who Set Us Back For Years It Was Wansted(spelling ??) Who Did That To Us ... Jj Built Us A Great Defense And All Right Offense And I'm Sure If He Would Have Stuck With Us The Offense Was Going To Catch Up With The Defense ...

Jimmy Johnson is a POS quitter... how can you support this POS who RAN AWAY after Jacksonville CRUSHED his unprepared team. THEN, he DEMANDED that Wanny was brought in as his replacement. Total POS.

Jimmy was an overhyped ******* that literally pushed Shula out the door. Granted, it was time for a change, but the way it happened felt wrong. I remember the fans and media were turning on the Don, and many felt that Jimmy would lead us to the Super Bowl. Pfffftttt! Though he drafted some great defensive players I'll always remember him for three things:

1--Shula out
2--Marino out
3--Wanny in

:shakeno:
