Patrick Macenroe just said this is not a good move!

He said Porter is overrated! He said he stockpiled statistics against weak tackles!

Then Skip Bayless retorted that he must be a JETS fan! :sidelol:

He said what most of us are saying, that you couple that guy and JT from all sides and you to serious trouble for Brady and Pennington!

Personally, I like Joey Porter. I like the Steelers, and Porter is their best pass rusher. If he can do about what he did the last five years, we'll be in great shape defensively. Pass defense can be greatly improved by two things - excellent coverage and excellent pressure. We don't have shutdown corners anymore now that Madison and Surtain are gone. With Taylor on one side, Holliday in the middle, and Roth and Porter on the other side, we should be among the league leaders in sacks. This should especially free up everybody - nobody can be double-teamed with that many threats.
 
He may have somewhat of a point. 6 0f 7 of Porter's sacks came against Miami, Tampa and Oakland. Those were pretty weak OL he padded his stats with last year.
 
Man Delete this thread . . . Patrick McEnroe . . gimme a break. C'mon, thats like if you started the thread and said "Rosie Odonnell said this is not a good move".
 
if we can shut down the run and make opposing teams pass, then we can sack them and force turnovers to put our offense is good position. with the two headed rushing attack we can capitize on the short field our defense gives us. we are back to the playoffs!
