By now, it is widely known that Katina Taylor has filed for divorce after five years of marriage. By now, Dolphins fans ought to trust Taylor and Thomas enough to know they would never allow the situation, whatever it may be, to affect team business.
They have earned that respect. Further, they have earned the right to privacy, safe from day-to-day scrutiny.
An athlete's private life should only be the public's business if that athlete lets something affect the business of winning. Athletes don't owe it to fans to spill personal secrets. Their only obligation, to fans and to employers, is to compartmentalize. That means keeping off-field issues from inhibiting individual effort, or sabotaging the greater common cause.

Great to see some perspective on the matter. These are two of the best players -- in every sense of the word -- in team history. They deserve our confidence, respect, and most importantly, the privacy to deal with this issue. It's a sad situation, no doubt, but not one that I think is helped by fan frenzy or speculation.
