"Culpepper left the field early during this morning's minicamp practice and didn't return. It's believed Culpepper's walk-off was related to the Dolphins trying to trade him elsewhere, but coach Cam Cameron refused to shed light on the situation following practice because he didn't want to "jeopardize" anything regarding the quarterback's status.

We're working to get something done," Cameron said. "Comments can be misconstrued in negotiations and we're not going to go there."

You don't negotiate a release to my knowledge!!

Culpepper left on his own accord...

"I understand totally what's going on," Culpepper said. "Instead of wasting time out there watching practice, I went into the weight room and got a little bit stronger."

NO DEAL YET FOR DAUNTE?
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the exit of quarterback Daunte Culpepper from the Dolphins' practice field had nothing to do with his status, and that he currently is a member of the team.
Schefter also says that Culpepper wasn't taken off the field by the team, and that Culpepper won't be released this weekend or "anytime soon," but that he could be traded at any moment.
Stay tuned.

So they are barring him from real reps but allowing him access which keeps plays association off their arse while they find a suitor?

The longer it lasts, the uglier it will get. The longer it lasts the more of a detrimental effect it will have on this team. This team just needs to concentrate on football. Haven't we spent enough time in the media eye? The draft, Ricky Williams, the Trent Green drama, now the Daunte Culpepper drama? I mean seriously. What are we doing? Why treat a guy like this and why put the team through this. We got who we want, now let's get rid of the guy we don't want.

This guy is not the sharpest guy around. He is his own agent - that is beyond stupid. It messed things up at Minny and is doing the same with Miami. You can't walk in and put a different hat on and negotiate as an agent and then walk out and walk right back in and put your player hat on. He says he doesn't want to burden a new team with his current deal if traded - are you kidding me? Ever hear of someone renegotiating before the trade? If he had a brain he would know this is pretty common. Did he even know what Green did? I'm sure an agent would be able to help there. He is not and never was a fit and I say good riddance. Saban screwed this team with that decision. We lost a 2nd rd pick last year and Brees as well as now trading a 4th for Green with that move. Sometimes moving on is better than keeping a problem child around to maybe getting a 7th rd pick. Let's go forward!!!!

i feel really bad for c-pep hes just done nothing but just work his but off and try and get better i really wish it would have workes out here

Dolphins | Culpepper to block any trade
Fri, 8 Jun 2007 10:35:56 -0700
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/166">Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper will refuse to restructure his contract, which would essentially block the team from trading him. Culpepper is set to earn $5.5 million in base salary in 2007. "They're going to do what's best for them. Obviously, I'm going to do in my opinion what's best for me," Culpepper said. "I'm going to work out every day I'm here and continue to get myself healthier and physically better the best way I can." Culpepper has been barred from practice with the exception of one-on-one drills.

The reality is that C-pep was Saban's gamble, there's no reason it should be Cameron's as well. Cameron already has his plan set-up and ready to go (T. Green . . . Beck). I hope C-pep realizes this and just let's things take it's course.
