Apologies if this has already been posted, I did a quick scan and didn't see one.

The latest issue of Sports Illustrated has a picture on pages 10 and 11 of Sharper clearly losing the ball with his back foot on the 2 yard line, clearly a full yard behind the pylon with the ball loose. (Yes I realize this is quite the redundant sentence).

And the kicker. The referee in the picture has a perfect view.

Edit #4 Video! http://jungworld.com/NOS/ (Click on Saints at Dolphins and it will play in your default video player) Disclaimer: This is not mine, it was on the Saints board. I've clicked it already so it was safe at the time, but feel free not to click if you're paranoid or just don't feel like puking at the sight.

Sorry I don't have a way to get it onto my computer. The person who runs the Phinsider is asking SI for a digital copy so he can post it on there. I'll post if he is successful.

The sad thing is everyone saw that...and it was even reviewed and they still missed it.

ya, and that was the play that really changed the game. if we get that ball back, i believe we win that game. the refs were horrible that game. i think they should own up to there mistake. lol

I love how when they show the replay or when ESPN and NFLN showed the highlights it was never once mentioned that there was controversy on wether or not the ball was fumbled into the end zone.

I KNEW IT WTF. To say bess wasnt down and fumbled it but Sharper was not losing the ball before he crossed the line was a jack *** call.

No one would be saying anything about Ginn if he makes that play up, which he did.

I've said it before, its only because the replay machine malfunctioned when bess clearly dropped the ball and we received the benefit. Just make up calls. Problem was their make up calls were alot more critical to the game.

I can't wait to see it. The announcers were questioning it I remember too.

By the way, love the avatar. "Next...on Sick sad world!" daria is coming to dvd in 2010 supposedly.

Refs are human. It was extremely close, and even after looking at replay there was no camera angle that definitively showed the ball was out before it crossed the line.

Remember, the call on the field was a TD, so the ruling is that it must be indisputable evidence to overturn the call, from all angles they showed on FOX, there really wasn't one angle that you could say "Oh, obviously he dropped the ball before the ball crossed".

did they show a goal line angle? when watching the game, i don't recall a goal line angle at all. and i'm pretty sure they have a cameral on the goal line 100% of the time. I could be wrong though.

If you see the picture you'll realize just how bad the call on the field was. It's so clear and obvious, and the ref is staring right at it. I'm not sure why all the replays we saw were from the far side where all the players are in the way, but from the other side, there's nobody in the way and you can see the ball perfectly.

I don't think it was human error. I think it was human greed, aka someone had big money on the Saints to cover the spread.

The camera angles they showed (if I remember correctly), was from the opposite side of the field to where the play occured. They showed shot by shot the ball coming out of his hands, but you see the ball on his knee, however his body is already across the goalline. I don't remember seeing one exact angle that showed something that could overturn the call ont he field. Whether right or wrong, you need to be 100% sure as a ref to overturn any call on the field. I don't think anybody could've been 100% on that play.

Haha, thanks. Here's hoping they finally deliver the goods after all these years.
