How about bringing Peppers to be our stellar DE, we've heard that he would like to go from Carolina and that our Defensive scheme adapts well for himself, he is a monster DE, he is not that old, he is just 29 years old and has a lot of experience.

We also have the cap room...

What do you think?

if we somehow find a way to sign this guy to play olb for us i would finish in my pants and wouldnt care about the draft or other FA signings

He is too inconsistent. He put up stupid numbers this year, but he didn't show up until halfway through the year. He is one of the best when he decides to play, but he has to decide to play in the first place. Not to mention that it will cost multiple high-round picks (way more than Boldin) to get him, and then we will have to pay him a ridiculous on top of that.

depends if they don't franchise tag him. would cost just as much as Boldin would in a trade. Plus much more in $$$.

all signs point to them putting the tag on Gross. Pep already said he doesnt want to be there i doubt they go out of their way to make him stay..

I agree, but they may try to tag and trade Peppers. They will likely thry to get as much compensation from him as possible.

I think you've got that backwards, they'll franchise him to trade him for something. They'll try hard to get Gross signed brfore but if not they can replace Gross with Wharton or Otah. They have no replacement for Peppers so tagging him will atleast fetch something for him.

am i the only one who thought peppers looked like he had cut some weight since the panthers season ended???

maybe it's me but he looked leaner to me like he's working his body towards that 3-4 olb weight.

another guy that's gonna get a mega contract.

I'd love to have him, but he won't play DE in this defense. He'll play OLB. He'd be an upgrade over Roth, though.

I think Peppers has the athleticism to play OLB opposite Joey Porter. The thing is that there is NO WAY Carolina lets him leave and get nothing in return. More than likely they will franchise him and it would cost us a least a 1st round pick to get him. It would probably he a Ricky Williams type deal to bring him to Miami. I would rather have the picks and look elsewhere.

Julius Peppers?

During the probowl Peppers said that he would want to play for a 3-4 but everyone knows he wants money. Well we are a 3-4 and we need to pay him so he can come to Miami, he has talent and no one can argue with that.

Well what we need to do to get him is don't resign Holliday, I like him but we need to get younger. What we can do is to have Merling at DE and DT, and let Langford and Peppers get end duties. Let Ferguson and Starks Rotate with DT. Son now Merling can rotate in anything we need for the other players that need rest.

Too much money for an experiment in my opinion.

He's a hell of a player .. but we just don't know how he we do in a 3-4, it's too much of a risk, and I'd rather spend that money on Asomugha or Dansby
