The Raiders reportedly don't plan to franchise tag Nnamdi Asomugha if they fail to work out a long-term deal with him by 4PM ET.
Asomugha would then hit the market and probably get more money than what Oakland is proposing. Every team in the league would have interest.

The Sacramento Bee hears that free agent Nnamdi Asomugha is "close" to signing a long-term contract with the Raiders.

It's hard to fathom why Asomugha would want to stay in Oakland, but this is the rumor. An undisclosed L.A. radio station and RaidersBeat.com also say a deal is near. If Asomugha isn't locked up by Thursday, the Raiders will slap him with the exclusive-rights franchise tag, costing $11.718 million. Feb. 19 - 1:10 am et

Two Conflicting Reports both from Rotoworld, Which one is true?

Asomugha could die in a firey plane crash and morons would still be posting threads about his impending free agency

Good question.

HUGE NEWS!!!
The Raiders reportedly don't plan to franchise tag Nnamdi Asomugha if they fail to work out a long-term deal with him by 4PM ET.

Asomugha would then hit the market and probably get more money elsewhere than what Oakland is offering. Every team in the league would have interest.

If you saw any of the previous 10 updates, though, you'd see that they've already agreed on a long term contract and sent it to the league for approval

So I guess the Raiders are gonna get fined or penalized a draft pick for busting the cap.

Rotoworld is reporting that Nnamdi Asomugha won't be franchised if a deal can't be reached by 4 p.m. This scares the **** out of me! I think this would be a huge mistake! If we can't sign Nnamdi we have to franchise him and field trade offers! He can't leave without us getting anything in return!

so can we get rid of all these threads already? the idea that we were gonna break the bank for one player, having numerous needs, is LOL funny

It is funny. A lot of the players that have had their own threads here over the course of several months, won't be hitting free agency.

- Karlos Dansby
- Jordan Gross
- Julius Peppers
- Terrell Suggs
- Dunta Robinson
- Nmandi Asomugha
- O.J. Atogwe

People keep doing those kind of threads every year, but the end result is just about the same. I couldn't even begin to fathom the reaction around here if Jason Brown reaches a long term agreement with Baltimore.

the best part is every now and then when someone posts a reasonable list, and the thread dies right away. people wanna sign every star that isnt nailed down, even though its been proven time and time again thats no way to run a winning organization.
