Rotoworld says that Mike Lombardi believes Ronnie Brown could be available for the right price.

Lombardi isn't even a Dolphins beat writer obviously so take this for what it's worth. I always believed that Brown was available for trade for "the right price". I also think any of our players are though, for draft picks.

The Trifecta has already said that anyone on the team is available for the right price...

Nothing we didn't already know.

And NO, he will not likely be traded.

The only way I see him getting traded is if a team misses out on a RB in the first round and one they wanted didnt drop. More then likely he will be Franchised at the end of the year and then traded.

No newsflash really. If someone makes a really good offer of course we would trade him or almost anybody. Jake Long is probably the only untouchable guy on this team. The article had some solid points although I have no problem with Brown;s overall production last year. Our backs were good, we cannot have an all star everywhere and Brown does alot of things well. I also agree that he should have not have made the pro bowl. If was GM and could get a solid 1st rounder for Brown at a spot where Moreno was available I would have no problem making tha trade. Its a sad reality that teams are very cautious about signing backs to large contracts after they reach a certain age and Brown will probably be in that territory when he is a free agent. I expect if he is a free agent next year he will be franchised and then unless he accepts less than market value be playing elsewhere. This is even more likely with Parcells running things. Just my take

Outside of a first rounder I can't see him being moved. If we could sign him to an extension through age 31 I would be happy with that. He should be good for the next four years.

I'd take a 2nd or a 3rd and Alan Branch from the Cardinals who would be crazy not to take the deal.

Brown could help them immensely. More for his blocking and receiving but a definite improvement over Edge and Hightower in the running department as well.

There lies the problem. He will be 28 at the end of his contract. I would have no problem with a three year contract but he will be looking for no less than a 5 year contract. A three year contract will not give him the guaranteed money that he and his agent will want. I would guess his agent will want 5 years 40 something million with about 20 guaranteed. Most of the other backs that got those contracts were younger at the start of thier signing. I doubt Brown takes less than a 5 year especially with his contract history as a rookie and I doubt he takes less bonus than his initial contract which paid him top 5. I see a franchise tag in his future.

Actually I dont think they would make that deal. Not to say it is not fair. They seem to like Hightower as a starter (I dont). Im sure they draft a compliment probably in second or maybe first depending on who falls.
As a dolphin fan Branch and a second would make me happy.

Trading Ronnie Brown for anything less than a 1st...would be crazy.

Ronnie is one of the best RB in the game today. He can block, catch and run over you.

I was just in Phoenix. The paper there had an article on Branch. They have been disappointed with him, particularly his work ethic and weight. They think it is "put up or shut up" time for Branch.

I dont agree that he is one of the best but he is a very good back.

That being said if Marshal Faulk did not fetch a first why should Ronnie.
Its hard to squeeze a first round pick. Everything has to fall in place.

Not real surprising. Everyone is available if the right price is offered. Hardly doubt any team will come close to offering what he is worth. His price tag would and should include at least a first round pick. With that said, he is not going to be traded.

I dont think he will either. Now when he gets franchised next year, then a trade will be a real possibility if he demands what I expect.
