Ok let the great debate begin. There is some ill will towards Penny after today but hey this is one of the best D's ever with probably the best MLB and S EVER!!!!! So leave the emoition of today out of your analysis.

So looking forward what do you want and see for this Dolphins franchise next year. The question i am asking is WHO will be our Qb and how will it be decided?

Will Penny keep the job on the success he had this year? Will the reigns be handed to Henne to usher in the future? Or will both walk into camp and whoever plays the best is under center?

I harbor NO ILL WILL TOWARDS PENNINGTON WHATSOEVER...this isnt a post bashing him he got us to this point he lead our team to 11 wins and was 2nd in the MVP voting he was fantastic, simply fantastic. I am just asking what direction do you Dolfans think we take next year.

I don't know how you can ever argue against an open QB competition unless you have Manning or Brady. You have competitions for every position during training camp, why not QB. Pennington showed himself to be what we all feared in this game....... a playoff trainwreck.

Open comp, but I don't want to see this team regress because of a change at QB.

Open. Pennington did great in the regular season and then well, you know. But guys.. he did alright when he actually had time to block.. but eh. I really don't know what to say. But then again, that's why we're not in the FO.

PS, Ross better not bring in his own guys, I swear..

i say open but if no clear winner start off with penny and make a switch if necessary. but i think open battle, just because henne opens up the whole field

its penningtons job to lose. He is starter unless he comes into camp and somehow magically lost a foot or something. He wasnt great today but anyone trying to pin this on him solely does not know football.

It's Pennington's job to lose as far as I'm concerned. If Henne is the better man, then start him. Again, Pennington should enter the offseason programs as the starting quarterback.

this is a no brainer, its pennington's job. there is no competition unless he gets hurt. henne needs to keep learning, ill use rodgers as an example. he waited three years. and he had a great season! henne needs to keep learning. if we have no shot at the playoffs next year, you give henne the reins

but its pennington's job

For the regular season: Pennington. Groom Henne to come in for the playoffs.

Time for the Chad henne project to begin

First off, I love what Chad P did for us this year. he was the true MVP, by definition. He turned us into a laughing stock to a PO team in a year. And if all we want to do for the next few years is to claw and scratch for a wildcard spot and (likely) exit early, he's our man. But after nearly a decade in the NFL, it's obvious that Chad P isn't leading any team to a SB win -- at least not unless we somehow have one of those stone cold, top-ranked Ds (a la 85 bears, 2000 Ravens, '02 Bucs) that can win with a caretaker type QB.

Is Chad H the answer. who the hell knows. But we drafted him to lead this team one day and we might as well find out if he can right now. Mythoughts though is Chad P gets a chance again next year and if we're not contending by week 12, you'll see CH come in to close the season.
