The season

Before the season started we knew miami wasn't any better than a avg. team AT BEST. Majority of the fans predicted 8 or 9 wins AT BEST. We knew Gus wasn't a very good QB. The only reason he was brought in was his familiarity with the system. We knew he wasnt going to win us games we just hoped he wouldn't us any either. We knew the OL was subpar and we knew he brought in no fresh bodies to help there just a new coach. One thing can be said for this seaon Houck has helped the OL. They have played better. We knew we were very thin in the secondary but we continue to be surprised by poor coverage? If Saban had a better player than Howard to put in the game he would. Guys my only point is we knew this season would be a struggle and that Saban would need more than 1 year to make the Dolphins into his team with his players. just enjoy watching Zach and Jason running aroung reeking havoc on the field cause who knows how much longer they will be here. Once they are gone think about how many posts will be made if only zach or jason were still playing. Enjoy watching Ronnie get better and better on the pro-level. there should be no more posts about who we should have taken in the 1st round last year because we got our man!.

What you said is mostly correct.

Here's the problem.

At least three of our losses have been there for the taking. Today, the defense held Atlanta to their second-lowest point total of the season, but the offense sputtered, mostly because of bad play calling and poor quarterback play (big surprise on both counts). We could've easily won against Buffalo and the Jets. Kansas City left us more than a few opportunities. Even with the personnel we have, we could be 5-3. Hell, we could be 6-2. Leaving points on the field - EVERY WEEK - is bad.

well said, the dolphins are playing just like we expected before the season but yet many uf us are acting like we are missing a chance to make a SB run or we are getting worse (which is not true)

Good post. Don't forget that we just played probably the best team in the NFC pretty tough. This is from a team that was a total embarrassment last year.

Saban has the team going in the right direction. We still are not very disciplined, but I'm starting to see some physical toughness already. Atlanta may have won the game, but we beat those guys up. Our defense gave up some yardage, but they were delivering some pops too.

Once we fill some personnel holes, this team will be right in the hunt.

leaving points on the field is what mediocre temas do, . . . we are a mediocre team

We want to see improvement. The kind of improvement Saban is said to be able to make. Stuff besides offseason pick ups.

Saban is very good, but he can't make untalented players talented. This is his first year. Most people, unlike homer Fin fans, predicted anywhere from 5-8 wins.

I could care less what their record is or will be. I see no improvment. I saw lots of good things in the first quarter of the season. We are now on glide it seems aside from the R & R experiements. Those can happen with any QB for example.

Untalented players...you mean like Gus? Seems to me he was Saban's selection...so Saban needs to re-evaluated his judgement.

Who should we have picked up that was better? I am not defending Gus, but who should have Saban signed?

yet once again, let a team march down the field on an opening drive for a TD....how many weeks is that now?

I don`t know you but I see imrpovement from last season. Oline is better (although srill shaky), the running game is better, Dline is better. granted there are still some areas that remain a problem like QB

The 2005 draft class has been great. Ronnie is running crazy, Crowder is hitting hard, and Daniels is covering pretty good for a 4th round rookie.

Is this season over?

I think so..........................

The AFC is too tuff... we dont have a QB that will take us to the AFC East championship and we surely can not go on a 8 game winning streak..

I say the season is over... rest Thomas, Taylor, Seau, Carter and Madison to see if we can get one more season out of them...

Bench Ferrotte... on second thought.. cut his azz... he is worthless
Prep either Sage or Lemon..

i agree it is most likely done...but I didnt really have high expectations going in. I think a big reason why people are so upset is because they set their expectations too high. The fact is that we really dont have as much talent as most other teams yet. There is still a lot of work to be done.

However I disagree with your comment to bench the veterans, that would be silly.
