MERGED:Tim Couch Worked Out/Dom Capers Contacted

Capers would be a great addition. Huge upgrade at DC.

very interesting. Couch would at most be a backup role I believe, and could possibly be a replacement for Frerotte altogether. Capers as our Def Cor would be incredible, and just another great addition thanks to Nick.

i think couch would be great addition to this team and same with Capers

I think Scott Linehan stays for another year. All signs point to that right now.

Now, let's say Capers comes here with the Fins. You name me a more complete and talented coaching staff in the whole league. Not even New England's would compare.

Saban. Capers. Linehan. Houck. Quinn. Baggett. Edwards. Muschamp, etc...

Our owner is breaking the bank and giving a free payroll for Saban to hire an coaches he wants! I bet he is extremely pleased with Saban.

Couch would be brought in to compete with Frerotte. Cappers would be great to run the defense and help find young people to add to the squad. I doubt Sage will be here next year, for some reason I have a feeling that he is going to sign with another team.

The question is, would Capers run his own D or Saban's?

Tim Couch took way to much heat in cleveland for things he couldnt controll with the right couching he can be a solid backup maybe even starter

Dom Capers is a horrible head coach but defensivly he is great and would be a great defensive coordinator

I like the idea of Capers as our D-coordinator. But if that happens, does Smith get canned or does he get another role with the team?

It was evident last year that Smith was one of Saban's last choices for defensive coordinator. Capers would be a great addition. :)

As for Couch, if he is signed I don't think it has any affect on what happens later this offseason. Another veteran QB may be signed and a quarterback will be drafted. Couch actually may be here to compete with Lemon for the #3 spot.

It is the one area where no one can control who much you spend and how many people you get. Personally I think it is very smart to hire the best coaches... good coach can make an average team look good.

Absolutely agree on both counts. Couch took a lot heat cause he was a high pick and never lived up to expectations, in part cause the team around him was never as good as they were thought to be when they backed into the playoffs @ 9-7 that 1 year.

As was proven this year right here in Miami! :D
