Count me in for Clarence Shelmon.
My first thought was that he was just attractive because he worked with LT (LT would make any RB coach look good)........
but after further analysis, his RB's always produce.
LT speaks for himself. Shelmon joined the Chargers in 2002, 1 year after LT. In '01 LT had 1236 yds and 10 td's.....in '02, 1683 and 14 td's. Of coarse it could just be the player progressing, but the coach sure didn't hinder that progression.
Before that, he was with the Cowboys from '98-'01. Again, he wasn't working with scrubs....he had a guy named Emmitt Smith. Still, the one thing I would point out was that Emmitt was coming off the 2 worst years since his rookie year, averaging 1139 yards, 8 td's and 3.9 ypc a season. But for the 3 years after Shelmon arrived, an OLDER Emmitt Smith averaged 1311 yards, 11 td's and 4.2 ypc.
And prior to that, he worked in Seattle with Chris Warren, who had rushed for a grand total of 24 yards in the 2 seasons prior to Shelmon's arrival and would go on to 4 straight 1,000 yard seasons and 3 Pro Bowls.
That looks like a very impressive resume to me.
