MERGED: Why hasn't Harrington been cut yet\To be realesed Wed.

My understanding was that Harrington was to be released before March 1, to avoid paying him the bonus due on that date. By my calendar, today was the last day of February and tomorrow is March 1. Did the team have a change of heart or, perhaps, is working on a trade? :confused:
 
I have no idea but a trade would be nice so we can get something in return instead of just releasing him. I'm not sure if any team would trade with us though since they know we are going to let him go.

Good question, I don't think the deadline is March 1st though, I think it is sometime in March probably tied in with the Friday start of FA. Not sure exactly how it all works though.
 
They have until tomorrow I believe, and the only team I could imagine being dumb enough to trade for him would be the Vikes. Speilman would pull off something this boneheaded, look at his AJ Feeley debacle. :lol:
 
Which is why all Vikings fans should be very skeptical -- with the news that they are looking into Schaub, who knows what Spielman may offer... if he gave up a 2nd round draft pick for Feeley, he may just offer up three firsts for Schaub!

Man, wouldn't that be sweet? Schaub, Harrington, and Travaris Jackson as Vikings QBs? Speilman would be viewed as a genius...:sidelol: I'm so glad he's not running the show here anymore.
 
Cameron has said that Joey Harrington was the best player to line up under center for us this year based off all the tapes. I wouldn't be too shocked if they kept him
 
What do you expect Cam to say? That Joey has sucked and we will be cutting him without a doubt? Also, is that really saying much, that he was our best QB last season? Joey is gone. And Trent is an upgrade (if thats the route we do go, which I am not convinced it is).

And a little accuracy when throwing beyond five yards. The guy simply has bad accuracy! He couldnt throw for 60% in college with a QB friendly system. The guy should never have been the #3 overall pick in the first place, he wasn't even great in college to begin with.

Wow...Just a little coaching for the kid aye? Is this pop warner?

:rickybrow hes gone by the end of tomorrow...he overpaid and we need the cap space....more than we need a second string at best QB..
 
i like joey he's not a great qb but he has great leadership skills. i hope we keep him but nothing over 2 million a year.
