Dolphins buzz from Akin Ayodele's charity event last week:
• Several players expressed excitement about Pat White's addition and the prospect of even more offensive creativity. Although Ronnie Brown loved operating the Wildcat, he said it was ''good'' Miami drafted White and will not be disappointed if White assumes that role.
''This will take our team to another level,'' Davone Bess said.
The Dolphins kept their approach simple with White at rookie minicamp but will add new elements for him this summer. Coach Tony Sparano keeps saying he likes how Brown operates the Wildcat, so White must earn that job and has the ideal skill set. Brown and White also figure to play together a lot in that formation.
''Ronnie can throw it, but Pat can throw it better,'' Anthony Fasano said. That's key, because opponents stacked the line and blitzed the Wildcat at times, unconcerned about Brown's ability as a passer.
Brown said White's arrival ''will open more opportunities, add new wrinkles and keep the defense guessing.'' Greg Camarillo, eager to see what offensive coordinator Dan Henning has ''up his sleeve,'' said ``it's as exciting to learn the Wildcat as it is to watch it.''
The Dolphins are intrigued by the idea of using White in spread offense formations at times. ''Pat White,'' Ted Ginn Jr. said, ``will be great.''
• Nineteen months after tearing a knee ligament, Brown said he feels ''stronger and better'' and is ''taking the weight on my shoulders'' to improve the running game. Brown averaged 4.3 yards a carry in 2008 -- 5.7 on 56 Wildcat runs but 3.8 otherwise.
Two positives: 1. ''We've got the offensive line in order,'' he said of an upgraded unit. 2. Running backs often don't return to form until two years after a knee injury. Edgerrin James averaged 3.6 yards in 2002, the year after his torn anterior cruciate ligament, but 4.1 in '03 and 4.6 in '04. Jamal Lewis, who tore his ACL in 2001 training camp, averaged 4.3 in '02 and 5.3 in '03. Brown was averaging 5.1 before his injury in the seventh game of 2007.
• Paul Soliai was happy the Dolphins did not draft a nose tackle -- ''it seems like they had confidence to give me a chance'' -- but is ''upset with myself'' because he weighs 360, up from 345 in January. Soliai, who said the Dolphins want him at 345, cannot afford a misstep after two one-game suspensions last year.
• Although a rookie (Vontae Davis or Sean Smith) might start opposite Will Allen, cornerback Eric Green said ''experience gives me an edge'' in his battle with the rookies. ``I recognize what teams are trying to do.''
Green said his play for Arizona fell off after his wife lost their unborn daughter in November, nine months into her pregnancy. A sprained knee also affected him. ''I really wasn't focused last year, and it showed,'' he said, adding it will be good ``to play in a strict organization where I can't slack off.''
• The Dolphins planned more internal discussions this week about the merits of adding Jason Taylor. They have had no recent contact with Taylor, who might wait until June to sign. A friend described him as disappointed Miami hasn't pursued him and is on a mission for a big year
