Merged x3: Phins show 'significant' interest in OG Jason Fabini

I wouldn't mind having him. The redskins need cap space as usual and need to unload. I just hope we don't give up much for him if we do get him.

yeah, I think it would be a good pick up, if he comes for a mill or so... he's also a Bill Parcells guy isn't he? from the jets days?

Fabinis a dcent depth guy and a total parcels guy. we'll sign him

Fins want Fabini..

Jason Reid and Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports the Miami Dolphins are showing interest in free-agent OG Jason Fabini (Redskins), according to a league source.

I mentioned him a few weeks ago, he was with BP in Dallas and I cant imagine would cost very much to acquire.

Who? I have never heard of this guy, does he start?

I don't care as long as Bill knows what he is doing. I like what he has done so far, Let him continue his FA rampage.

He played G for Parcells in Dallas so he must see something he likes in him....I dont think he will dominate but nonetheless he can provide depth.

You've never heard of Jason Fabrini? He started for the Jets for a pretty long time. He was with the Redskins but spent last year on the IR...He's old too att 33 but i guess if we can't find anyone else for our LT....

He'd be a stop gap and a depth guy. Probably wouldn't command a big deal. I would liken it to us looking at Kendall last year, but probably slightly cheaper.

he's a tackle and Parcells drafted him when he was with the Jets in 1998

Jason Fabini is a Tackle, guys. He is 6'7 309#. He's not a Guard, and he's not going to play LG. If he comes here, he'll probably either play RT or he'll be a tackle swingman. He's played both sides.

moved to guard with the Skins though (of course, that could be due to John Jansen at RT and Chris Samuels at LT).

Fabini, despite his age, is still a decent lineman. Probably can't play tackle anymore, but could be a decent stop gap at guard/6th lineman. Was a veyr good tackle for a very long time before he broke his leg his final year in NY. Was ok in Dallas, and has had success at G.

This would also be the case of getting an offensive lineman that played for Sparano. Which IMO is another reason we went after Ferguson. Not just because he's a Parcells guy, but he was coached by Kacy Rodgers in Dallas.
