Bronco's fired Mike Nolan today, I think he would be a great fit for the Fins. He did a good job turning the Bronco's D around this year.


In an offseason that has seen plenty of defensive coordinator jobs open up, another one has become available, in an unexpected location.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Broncos coach Josh McDaniels and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan have "mutually decided" to part ways.

The move comes after a season in which Nolan's presence increased the team's performance from No. 29 to No. 7 in total defense.

Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is leaving the Broncos, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer.

Nolan and head coach Josh McDaniels reportedly agreed to "mutually part ways," presumably over issues of control. Nolan was also surprisingly not pursued for any head coaching vacancies after coaching up a defense laden with mediocre talents.

Dolphins should be on the phone with this guy NOW. He was the Ravens D-coordinator in 2001-2004 before he was the 49ers head coach, and his defense run a 3-4 scheme.

The reason for the separation isn't known (yet), but the development puts Nolan in play for vacancies in Miami, Buffalo, and Chicago.

Nolan, who uses a base 3-4 scheme, would be a good fit with the Dolphins.
