i guess next time he better make sure the qb leaves the field on a stretcher

I guess Zach should stop playing "tackle" football. I also guess the refs didn't screw the Fins hard enough, so the league had to pile on.

next thing you know we're gonna have woman qb's their protecting them so much

the nfl wants the games to be all offense these days... its ridiculous

Lets just put flags on and wear dresses and SQUARE DANCE for touchdowns!

First off it was a very borderline call. And fined $5,000!? If the refs and the league are going to go overboard to protect players then the rules are definitely going to favor offense and scoring over defense and agressiveness. I mean there was a time when that play would not have been considered a penalty.

Understandable that the QB needs some type of protection from serious injury. But this is football and not flag football. The league is getting too stringent with this. And, how about accidental helmet to helmet contact. This stuff just takes too much away from the toughness of football and re-emphasize finesse over anything else to do with football.

Oh, that is such bull****. How about a fine on the officials for calling a **** game? That's the only fine I would support.

You know, players contracts and money depend on their performance. I think the officials should be the same. Every missed call should result in a fine.

I'd prefer more of a demerits system. You make enough bad calls in a season? You won't be back. Publish the information online with video links to the missed calls so there is total transparency.

That would work too. I believe it was you who I was talking to about officiating in another thread. I have nothing against these "senior citizens," if you will, but they need some young bloods out there. I would like to see a bunch of cut guys in there 30s running around at there who might actully be able to put up a fight with some DBs. Officiating is getting worse and worse and the league shows to much loyalty to the vets of the officiating business.
