MERGEDX11: All Favre/Dolphins Rumors & News

There is no way Miami will go after Favre. As they shouldn't. A 38 year old QB on a rebuilding team? Um, NO! Develop a long term solution and don't start trying to go after the quick fix as this team has done in the past. I want nothing to do with Brett Favre.

i like Brett Favre as much as the next person, but not to come to us and play...we're rebuilding, not going after the quick fix. we finally have a FO that i feel good about, and they have our Dolphins headed in the right direction with this rebuilding project underway, and trying to get Brett would just be a quick fix. so,as much as i like Brett Favre as a QB, i have to say no to bringing him in,and just have our QBs learn as they go.

To begin with he's overrated, but on a micro standpoint, what purpose would it serve to retard the growth of OUR young guns since the Packers obviously feel the same way per Aaron Rodgers.

I couldn't agree more with this Bleacher Reports article. He's exciting to watch, stimulates fan and media interest, but isn't in the same class with the all time top QBs including Montana and Marino. All time interception leader could say more about him than all time TD leader. He's fine if you want an entertaining show but he's more likely to step up to lose, NOT win the "big show"

No thank you in regard to this self-aggrandizing soap opera queen.

It just doesn't make any sense for Favre to play for Miami or Miami to make a play for Favre.

I always liked Greg Cote. Would Favre be an upgrade yes with a but. Number 1, he does want to come back and play for a contender and there are far too many teams that are closer to winning than we are that could use his services. See minnesota. Number 2, I dont think Miami sells Wranglers so he wouldnt be comfortable. You gotta love Greg though.

he's not coming here. makes no sense on so many levels. if he decides to play again and if he leaves green bay - it will be to a contender. he wouldn't want to come and we wouldn't want to have him.

No one has mentioned the fact that Favre has little to no value compared to Jason Taylor who I believe will get us at least a second round pick midway through training camp.

I am not against going after Favre if everything else is right. The article mentions trading Taylor for Favre and the author tries to soften the notion by calling Taylor a "dancer". That's absurd.

In the right setting Taylor is the best defensive player in the league. DO NOT trade Taylor for Favre.

If Favre is cut and he wants to play for Miami I think it would be great. I think this is highly unlikely so we are back to square one.

If in some weird string of events Favre were to come play here under the conditions I have named then it would neither be counter-indicated or cut against the grain of the process we are in to take a veteran QB to lead us out of the mire for the next 3 seasons.

I think the Dolphin FO will wait until after preseason games before they would even consider something like this. No one really knows how Beck, Henne or McCown will perform until the heat is on and they are under fire. If they all stink or mediocre at best, it is not out of the realm of reality to consider Favre or other QB that might be available after teams trim their rosters. Would be very foolish to go after Favre "just because" he is Favre without first seeing what current QB's can do.

As Vaark mentioned in his post..."All time interception leader could say more about him than all time TD leader" speaks volumes.
We all know how Bill Parcells feels about turnovers......

Many things to consider. We shall see. I can't wait until PRESEASON!!!
