With the signing of Pennington we continue to have a stop gap as our starter. Pennington is an injury prone Qb who will be lucky to make it through the season. If we would have made the logical choice and drafted the obvious in Brady Quinn, we would at least have our QB of the future, and stop having to waste money signing or trading for injury prone QB's. Quinndid have a solid outing in the first preseason game. I knew not drafting him was going to set this franchise back years. If we would have just drafted Quinn and Sydney Rice we may have had an actual shot at making the playoffs. Like I have said in earlerier post not drafting Quinn was one of the worst decsions ever for this franchise. Honestly who would you rather have as a starter Brady Quinn or Chad Pennington?

I'm sick of Brady Quinn. Screw Quinn. I wanted Quinn in the draft but its time to move beyond that Notre Dame beeatch.

No, Quinn would just be another Beck, we would still need the stop-gap. And why does everyone love Quinn? Look I think we should have drafted him but he hasn't done anything yet in the NFL, at least wait until he wins games and makes pro-bowls and then you can say for a fact we should have drafted him.

QB Saga Woes - Quinn Was "The Guy"

This will sound like a rant, which it is, but I keep going back to draft day 2007 and the name "Ted Ginn Jr." announced for Miami at #9. This whole QB saga could have been over by now - Brady Quinn damn well should have been the starting QB against the Jets this year. This is not hindsight, I wanted him that day, and I still do. Did anyone see him the other night (against the Jets no less) going 13-17 for 133 yards? Very solid and poised in the pocket. Before anyone jumps down my throat for it only being a preseason game, well lets see John Beck (or anyone for Miami not named Pennington) go 13 of 17 in ANY game.

This is a young team in Miami. It is getting ready to contend in 2009 or at the latest 2010. To truly contend, this team will need the answer at QB. Quinn should have been the guy - he would have clearly gotten into some games for Miami last year after Green went down, then he would enter this year as a 24 year old starter. 24 people!! Sure we would take our lumps, but we still will without him. I know in my heart this lack of a pick will haunt us UNLESS Henne somehow proves it otherwise. To me, Quinn was superior to Henne in college and I think he will be a better pro. Regardless, we would be one more year down the road to "the guy" if Cameron and Mueller had not screwed the draft up. I will loathe both men until I die.

Now we enter 2008 with another stopgap in Pennington, and an unknown future in Henne. The smart solution was to draft Quinn, grrom him in 2007 to start in 2008 while signing a veteran back-up to be the #2 in 2008. Pennington will not be the guy to have us contend in 2009 or 2010 for the division - will it be Henne as a 1st or 2nd year starter? That remains unknown, but with teh Quinn pick we would be poised and ready to do what Parcells preaches - a young team growing up together.

Damn, what a flipping waste. Many of us knew it that second. Many of us are still in denial. Ginn over Quinn will continue to plague us unless Henne gets it done. I realize this has been discussed ad nauseum, and I apologize if a hindsight post annoys anyone, but I cannot truly heal and get over this disaster of a pick unless I continue talking about it.

I can't wait until Quinn becomes the next Joey Harrington so people will kindly STFU about this crap.

I'm more upset about not drafting P.Willis then anyone else, but atleast 'm going to give Ginn a chance to shine before holding any judgement over something we have zero controll over.

And Quinn has done what in the NFL? And don;t talk about preseason. He has not proven one thing. He could be Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf. We must still wait and see how he does in his career to decide if we should have drafted him.

While watching the NFL draft with my son, I remember the shock when, instead of hearing Brady Quinn's name being announced as 9th pick of the draft, I heard the name Ted Ginn called-I couldn't believe it!

I felt like kicking the television through the wall! I like John Beck as a person; he seems to be a great guy, but I believe we should have drafted Brady Quinn with the 9th pick of the draft when we had the opportunity. Only time will tell if any of us are right or wrong.

You are 1000% right. Quinn was the guy. Quinn might turn out better than Russell and be the best QB of that draft to be honest.

He has lite up every preseason game he has played in. And in the few snaps last regular season he took he played well.

You watched Quinn throw a bunch of dink and dunks with an INT. We wont know if Quinn will pan out for a few years and Quinn wouldnt have done any better than Beck on last years team. Odds are Quinn would be in the same situation Beck is now.

The Ginn pick was a horrible pick. I'll never forget how happy I was when we were on the clock with Quinn. The hundreds of hours spent analyzing the scenarios to get to that point in the forums, the mock drafts, the excitment of finally getting the heir apparent to Marino. As the clock kept ticking to 15:00 minutes I knew the Cam-Muel era was going to get off on the wrong foot..

All I have to say now is don't look back. We have PROFESSIONALS for once running this team. So rather than gloat, SCREW QUINN, SCREW ND, AND SCREW THE BROWNS.

Negative 30 stars? Ok D/A.

The guy exudes pro QB, physically and mentally. He is no Ryan Leaf because he has a brain. The fact is you can rationalize Ted Ginn at 9 until the end of time, but it was flat out the wrong pick. And because of it, this revolving door of castoffs and misfits will continue.
