Sorry no link but I just heard the report on WQAM. They also said Matt Roth is named the starting olb as well.

No suprise there. But there is still a couple more preseason games to go. I expect that depth chart to mean very little at this point unless your name is Beck or McCown.

As expected. I actually made those two changes on my depth chart today:

I don't think people should look at this news as anything against Ronnie Brown. The thumb injury will only keep him out of practice for a few days, but he is a RUNNING BACK only 10 months removed from having his ACL torn. I think by giving Ricky the starting job, and the bulk of the carries early on is probably the best thing you can do for Ronnie. Ronnie will likely still get 5-10 carries a game as they slowly work him back from his injury.

Roth has actually played surprisingly well at the OLB spot and I am glad that he was able to make the transition. This now allows them to get Langford on the field.

Great news! Glad they have the confidence in him... He has looked very good.
It was expected with Ronnie not completely at 100%. Ricky should get more carries I'd think until mid-season or so when everyone is completely positive that Ronnie is ready to go.... if Ricky's running over people, no sense in rushing Ronnie back and risk loosing him for another year or longer.

He did look very Good in the game against Jacksonville. Course that could have been because the O-line did outstanding in my opinion. For the second game together they are really starting to gel. That really helped the Ricky doing decent, Remember him shoving back Mathis on that one run XD I seriously Laughed out loud on that one. Ricky looks like he can return to that 2003 form.

I think it's probably a great thing to do for Ricky also. It shows they will reward hard work.

good post.

I think you kill 2 birds with 1 stone by the fact that it gives Ricky the confidence in himself knowing that his bosses believe in him. The benefit for Ronnie is it will be like college again when he split carries with cadillac williams. Williams and Brown were both healthy during that time getting the rest they both needed. I feel when they came to the NFL there body was not ready to take the bulk of the carries for a full NFL schedule. Having 2 better then average backs only helps out there 4th quater when the deffense is getting tired especially in the miami sun.

Start ricky for the first 6 weeks and ease ronnie back. Maybe give him 5-10 carries in a game and give ricky 20-25 a game.

Is roth starting because anderson is injured or is he really impressing?

Completely agree with the Ricky/Ronnie part. I also wonder the same question about Roth/Anderson.

But, if Ricky runs in the regular season like the Ricky of old, then I would find it difficult to increase Ronnie's carries and take carries away from Ricky as the season went on.

WE AGREED ON SOMETHING! :beer1:

Starting Lineup

THey mentioned during the Jags game that Porter started on the right side (taking JT's old spot) and Roth started on the left (in Porter's previous spot). Is that where they are listed as starters?
