The Dolphins signed Michael Lehan to a three-year, $4.95 million contract in March, thinking he might be a long-term answer at cornerback.
Today, the team placed Lehan on injured reserve with a hamstring injury suffered on Thursday. Since he suffered a severe ankle injury during OTAs, Lehan, 28, hasn’t been the same fleet-footed player who finished last season with 50 solo tackles, seven passes defensed and a sack.
To replace Lehan, the Dolphins signed Joey Thomas, who was with the team during training camp. He returned an interception 24 yards during a pre-season game against Jacksonville, but was waived him Sept. 2.

Man that sux. :(

First-year Dolphin Brandon London was anything but excited when he returned from Thursday’s practice to learn he’d been fined $5,000 for a questionable hit on Ravens’ TE Ethan Jones.
London, 24, nailed Jones during a kickoff return, when Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. broke up the sideline.
An official was close to the action and didn’t call a penalty. But Baltimore coach John Harbaugh sent the play to the NFL for review, claiming London hit Jones after Ginn had run out of bounds.

thanks John Harbaugh.. you couldn't just leave with the win.. you had to send video...
what does he get out of our players being fined...

and i just heard suggs saying they had bounties on Mendenhall and Hines Ward..
isn't that illegal?

I think that the NFL needs to live with the fact that football is a game of hitting and that the good players keep playing to the whistle and those are the players that you see constantly improving. Sometimes when you have your momentum going 1 way, you can't stop on a dime immediately when the whistle is blown especially if you are not in the immediate area of the play. I have caught myself hitting someone a bit after the whistle not to hurt someone but because when 265 pounds is running full speed, it is damn near impossible to stop right away.

The NFL is getting carried away with these fines and you aren't seeing all these fines because players are playing more dirty but because the NFL is being extremely meticulous about these things. LET THEM PLAY!

well at least they were able to sign Joey Thomas back. To me he was impressive in preseason, played with a good amount of intensity and its good to hear from that article that hes been putting the work in waiting for another chance.

Great i feel sorry for him, i think after his health insurance, car payments, house payments ect he only takes home 5k. Teddy should pay for it...LOL

I really hope Allen can make an impact. It would be nice if he was starting opposite Will Allen by seasons end. I also like that we brought Joey Thomas back. He looked good in preseason and we could sure use a corner with size.

why does anyone care if London was fined? It doesn't hurt our team, it's not any of our money. just be thankful there wasn't a flag (although since we lost anyway, that doesn't even matter).

I for one am glad to see Joey Thomas back.

its not so much the fact that he was fined, but the fact that the NFL sucks

I agree. It would be cool to see both of our starting CBs named Allen. It could confuse defenses.

the cowboys tried something similar with 2 Roy Williams'.....but it just wasn't meant to be, so fate stepped in and whacked the lesser RW. Maybe this is the whole reason why Jason Allen hasn't been able to lock down a starting spot....

That is a big shame about Lehan. Before he suffered the ankle injury in mini camp, I saw him as easily winning a starting cornerback job. I do believe we has talented enough to do so with the other competition that is on this team. He has never been the same since then, and now he suffered this season ending injury. I feel bad for him and hope he can return 100% next season.

I missed one kickoff return while in the kitchen and I am assuming its this one cause I would not miss a play like that otherwise, so I don't know if it was a dirty hit or just a tad too agressive.

If London was just being agressive.....I hope Ginn pays his fine. Ginn's set for life.....London is set for next month.
