First of all, I am a HUGE Saban supporter and do not want him to leave. BUT...with these rumors persisting about Alabama. I thought that it is at least something that we have to consider. At least until Alabama hires a coach.

If Saban does the unthinkable...who would be on the Dolphins short list of coaching candidates? Please don't tell me that Capers and Mularkey would be front-runners.

Any thoughts?

I don't have the first clue who.....

but if there were any silver-lining on the situation.....it might be that there could be very few coaching vacancies this year, so we wouldn't have that much competition for whomever were deemed the top canidate.

I certainly would hate for coach to leave us but if the worst should occur and the Steelers don't anti up for "the Chin" I wouldn't mind giving Bill Cowher a shot at turning our franchise around.

But that's just for hypothetical purposes. In the meantime, let's keep the faith in coach Saban.

Well I guess Wayne would come to this site and hire one of our members. It seems there are quite a few people on here who think they know more about football than any NFL Head Coach /Gm/Owner/O-Coordinator/D-Coordinator/Waterboy combined.

Cowher is under contract through next year....so if he doesn't get an extension, he's likely to retire, but he wouldn't be eligible to take another job next season w/o permission from the Steelers, which means compensation.

I would match my GM knowledge against ANY waterboy in the league!! Well, maybe not the Arizona waterboy. He's a workhorse out there in the desert. It's a DRY heat. :)

You really think I can get a contract? Let me get my agent on the phone.

Thanks. I didn't know that. I thought all the retirement talk was due to the fact that this was his last year and he wasn't being offered another contract.

I'm curious, what does compensation entail? Wayne would have to buy out his contract?
