MERGEDX6: Ricky is a changed man/Resisting urge to smoke

Damn, Miami might need to build a house next to dolphins stadium for him.
 
some things are better left unsaid, talking with the media about your urges FOR POT is ridiculous and immature, this article worries me more then it make me feel better.
 
it feels like a very honest comment. He said he felt the temptation and he prolly did. Hes come so far its nice to see he has a handle on things.

seriously. i would not be surprised to see that he gets busted with pot again after reading that he isnt over it yet.
 
The comment at the bottom of the article "once a doper, always a doper" is unfortunately what Ricky has to deal with just because a lot of fans are caught up in him being the reason for the Dolphin downfall a few years ago. I was upset at the time, but because I enjoy the sport and like seeing the team I root for be successful. On the other hand, how folks can root against someone who's simply made some bad choices is a bit beyond me. The guy isn't Ray Carruth or OJ Simpson. Believe me, there's noone feeling the weight of his choices more than Ricky... getting screwed on his rookie contract, throwing away him career, etc... the guy has certainly payed his dues and if he has managed to learn from that and grow, then more power to him. If he's become a better person and can now be production on the team, then all the better for us.

you obviously know nothing huh

confronting and accepting your urges and then seeking help shows your not immature.. (which has no bases period regardless) and shows you are wanting to rehabilitate.

I can now gurantee you have never taken a psychology course nor ever worked with anyone in rehabilitation.

grew up? i can pretty much guraNTEE IF i analysed your life with my BIOPSYCHOLGY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE DEGREE I could find 10x amount of faults to point you are x amount as childish. please dont attack someone in the media when you dont show anything about your own personal life If you care to, I will take a leave and analyse such indiivudla your self or another on my own schoolings fee to prove a point. Then after you refuse to sigh a waiver regarding posting my findings on the internet, i can point you out to be way less of an individual then ricky in the media spotlight.

edit - yes attack my drunken typos and try to relate them to intelligence only proving my point further.
 
lay off the guy, some of you guys forget these are people, not robots. he has a problem, at least he's man enough to admit it and he's battling those demons.

You would think that with your "BIOPSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE DEGREE" you would understand why he feels that way. You would also think that you of all people (with a "BIOPSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE DEGREE") would know better than to come on here and even make "drunken" typos. The only point that is proven is that your "BIOPSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE DEGREE" is not worth the paper it was printed on. It seems to me that the whole point of your post was to say "Look at me. I have a BIOPSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE DEGREE. I am smart. Hear me roar."

It is rather weak to blame your typos on alcohol. Ya think ? It seems that if you knew the mind so well, you would sober up before making these kinds of posts...or better yet, not drink at all.

Great to hear that Ricky not only recognizes his relapse triggers, but that he also has professional help at his disposal. This is the difference now for him. He is keeping his sobriety.

His previous relapses had nothing to do with him "growing up" or being a jerk or whatever. He's an addict and he'll stay an addict whether he uses or not. He'll just have to continue to use the tools that he now has to stay clean...and even then it won't be easy...so if Ricky does relapse again (and relapse is part of recovery), I'll be disappointed but won't condemn him. I'll acknowledge his illness unlike most people here. Marijuana addiction is a disease according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV (the holy grail of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers).

I wish I could thank more than once! Even with the typos. :hi5:

Everybody is so quick to judge. Ricky recognizes what he can and cannot do. Good for him for being able to talk about his "problem" (note: Pot is not a problem in my eyes, could care less if he smokes) He understands that as long as he wants to play he can't use.

We ALL have our "demons". Some are legal, some are not. It's not ANY of our place to judge.

Lay off the Magic Buds until you retire in 4 years, and I will personally roll a fat 1/4 oz. crypto blunt for us to smoke together.
