I don't want this to become a channing hate or defend thread but what better options do we have now. Hes knows the system we should offer him more. A rookie isn't guaranteed and we have more glaring needs with Carey on his way out.

thats true. Now that Dansby is out, we should do what our past FO's have done...press the panic button, overspend on losers and call it a good signing b/c its the end of the world as we know it for talent...RIGHT.

Sorry, the days of overpaying the Jeno James, Seth Mckinneys, hadnots are long over...hopefully that is.
 
I think that most of you are forgetting what happened when channing wasn't present during the chiefs game. If we get a rookie how good can we expect him to be? Sign him to a 2 year 10 million dollar contract and see what we get out of him. He is still young, not much older than a rookie coming out of college would be, so he still has potential to grow.

You don't offer a guy more money than you think he's worth, if you do you'll end up in cap hell with average players.
This has nothing to do with Crowders talent, it has everything to do with the FO having a system and plan and sticking to it no matter what. There plenty of options in the draft to replace an ILB so over paying is not an option. We wouldn't over pay for a LT because we have one, but you also don't over pay just because you need one either.
When average players make big money the good ones start to question their contracts and their worth to the team. A smart FO doesn't over pay anyone and we have a smart FO, so if Crowder doesn't come down in his contract demands he will no longer be a Dolphin.
 
Bart scott played next to suggs and lewis. Channing played next to porter and roth. Channing held his own. If we got a decent player to take roths place channing would put up better numbers for sure.

After halftime in the Chiefs game Crowder's absence wasn't an issue.

Adjustments were made.
 
Dansby getting tagged - the most unsurprising news I've heard all day.
 
Hey.. Hello Channing is fine, as long as we dont pay more than 3-3.5 million for him, and we draft a playmaking LB to take his spot soon.. I mean seriously, I dont know where he got this, I am a 6-7 million/year ILB... He himself admitted he isnt a playmaker... Know your worth Channing
