Mess in Miami - BEST ARTICLE to date, and BEST Analysis Video to date (IMHO)

I just see this article as an endorsement of the further wussification of America, and manhood in general.

We've gone from John Wayne to Phil Donahue .... oh. the. joy.

This year's rookies are getting screwed. They won't get their free meals they have coming to them.

Rookies, he'll, how about the vets. They won't be able to look at a rook cross eyed for fear of being Incog'ed. On a side note, most rooks will save a little dough.

I agree - and I have been screaming this into the wilderness (starting threads, and posting on threads) since this started.

Finally an article that begins to put accountability squarely on the shoulders of the NFL front offices.

This is a culture that the front offices condone (even if tacitly).

Last year a Chief blew his brains out inside their (Chief's) facility. We (America) got off cheap this time. Eventually this stupid f...ing hazing thing was gonna turn into a homicide suicide. I am outraged and livid at the meely mouthed, two faced Roger Goddell and his chronies in this fiasco. They cooked it. For decades its been fine to haze and do soft bullying on players and NOW when some drama comes pouring out of the Dolphins locker room the best the NFL head offices can do is jam some "impartial" lawyer own the Dolphins throats to help the league deflect blame from themselves.

Jonathan Martin was a victim of the NFL if he was a victim. He is a victim of our self-righteous, entitlement society that coddles victims.

Richie Incog is an immature fool who took things TOO far for being a grown man with a very high paying job.

But in the end the NFL has set the table to squirm out of its accountability in this and cook up some slap on the wrist crap for the Dolphins organization.

In the meantime the media's smear campaign is in full gear! Thanks Gooddell or whatever your name is - you are so boring really!

"this is a workplace issue first and foremost. It's clear that the NFL does a poor job of following generally agreed upon standards of decency and respect."

Yep. This has been my takeaway from the whole mess. The Cog/Martin fiasco just brought the larger issue to everyones attention. Time for NFL players to stop behaving like boys and start acting like men.

I take the exact opposite way. This is holding men to a higher standards. There is nothing wussy about acting like a professional.

What does Belcher's suicide/homocide have to do with it?
He was a fourth year player.

Agree about acting professional....but act professional on the field at practice, charity events ect ect.... But in the locker room??? You would think that would be the area to joke around with the boys. Not any more

The best part of this article was the video. My question to the Martin camp was why he did not follow the chain of command. I question that he could not or did not feel he could bring this up to player development rep, OL coach, O Coordinator or Head Coach. This what a professional would do. Instead he chose to walk out on team before an important game and not tell any one. That is not they way he should have handled it, no matter the circumstance. I also question his timing, this was after he was replaced for not doing a good job. That being said that does not condone the behavior and over the top vulgar and racist language that was used, it textes and in the locker room. Somebody in that locker room should a put a stop to that and Incoginto should never been the lead on this.

Oh my goodness how will the NFl survive without bad haircut day , or rooks carrying pads. How dare anybody try to censor my homophobic or racist language because this kind of stuff in jest is what makes me a better football player.
Maybe these guys should grow the hell up and actually concetrate on actual football.

It's called Integrity. (How you act when no one is around.)

Dude, those guys batter their bodies to the point to where when they get older they drool, have to pee and poo into bags, can barely walk, think, talk, sleep or even perform in the sack.

Who are we to tell them they can't behave boorish in their private sanctuary? That's their domain in that locker room. So long as they're not molesting children, murdering, raping, stealing or other wise committing serious criminal acts, they should be allowed to vent and blow off steam. If that's what the want to do, so be it ... as long as it doesn't interfere with their performance in a negative way OR if a player says no.

This push for everyone to become Angelic little politically correct drones is sapping the human nature out of humanity and will sap the aggression out of football. Then we'll be stuck with an entire league of ratfink wusses like Martin.

No thanks, I like my ball players to be Alpha types.
