So I was eating at Joes stone crab and in walks Jeff Ireland. He was a cool dude. At the end of my meal I walked by and simply said "thanks for drafting Ryan Tannehill". And he shook my hand, and said somehting along the lines of " This franchise is coming back". I said "thanks and big fan of the team etc." He said "hope to see you at some games". He was with another guy, but no clue who that guy was.

Thats really cool..did you tell him to stay away from the chowder?

Amazing just 6 weeks ago everyone wanted his hide now evyone's in love with him and we still haven't played a game yet. Listening to Dolphin fans these days is like having a wife with a split personality.

See this is a different approach then I would have taken, I would have kicked him in the ass and said, "thanks for finally drafting a QB and taking a shot, keep up the good work".
 
He has to be getting all his meals comp'd there with all the free advertising the fins have given that place.

Wait, so you're saying that he hasn't completely overhauled his personality in the past couple of weeks? But how could this be?!?! The media is portraying him differently nowadays and all is suddenly gloomy in Mammal land. He must have completely changed everything about himself!

Or, could it be, that perhaps some media outlets and fans blew things completely out of proportion? No way, not possible!
 
Great story, thanks for sharing. Since he and Joe had what seems to be a better draft this year, I'll give him a pass. But it would have been hard not to walk by and say, "hope you get crabs!"

my main problem with jeff has been how little regard that the players who are on thier way out the door recieve. I was never thrilled with how zach and then jason were treated, and perception has a way of becoming reality. Yes it is a business, even so you gotta treat the product with respect. it seems he's starting to understand the perception thing and how important it is to the fans, I can only hope the he continues to think about how his actions are perceived, and even if he has to cut a popular player etc, he should understand there is a right way and a wrong way to do so.
