Mets Sign Randolph to 3 year deal

Finally, Ive been waiting for willie to get his extension. He deserves it. The strides hes made as a manager have been solid, and he does a great job handling players, putting them in to positions to succeed, and hes getting better at playing the right matchups. 3 year deal, doesnt say a dollar amount but im guessing it probably tripled the 700k he was making.

I think I heard as my alarm went off on the update that he will be making 1.8 million a year, that's right up there as managers go.

My son works out with Andre (Willies son) at Randolphs baseball school, maybe we will be getting some nice seats while I wait now!

I like the way he handles the team, but he still needs to grow as a manager in his x's and o's, he left me scratching my head more then once last year. But hopefully with experince he learns.

But I'm happy with him.

As a skipper, Randolph plays more hunches than I'd like, and I still don't understand the infatuation with putting Paul LoDuca in the 2 spot. But those are minor quibbles. On balance, he does a good job.
