That is the future of Miami Dolphins football.

Meyer is not going back to college football. He has all types of NCAA violations on his resume that will soon catch up with him. He takes a few years off and returns to football. Not returning to the college game but instead trying his hand in the NFL. He gets his chance in Miami after the firing of Tony Sparano.

Now I'm not gonna predict the Dolphins to finish 0-16, but I have a gut feeling that this team is bad enough to earn themselves the #1 pick in the 2012 draft. "With the first pick in the 2012 draft, the Miami Dolphins select Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Stanford." - Roger Goodell

This is where Tom Clements comes in. He has been widely successful in developing one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL today, Aaron Rodgers. After he obtains another ring with the Packers (who i believe will repeat as super bowl champions) he will want to move on to a new project, that being Andrew Luck.

*Side-note: Even though Sparano gets the boot, I believe Ross gives Ireland another year to prove himself as a respectable GM without having Bill Parcells in his ear.

I don't think Meyer would be a quality NFL head coach...also Ireland shouldnt/isn't comming back to poison our Luck....so to speak

Urban Meyer is going to coach the Pats when Belichick retires/gets assassinated...he's practically in bed with that organization.

Do you think Belicheck is close to retirement?

Urban's spread offense wouldn't work in the NFL.

Thats why you have an offensive coordinator?

Based on what?

Based on the history of failed succesful college coaches in the NFL Nick Saban Steve Spurrier Bobby Petrino Dennis Erickson Butch Davis Rich Brooks Pete Carroll who I think has moved the Franchise back a few years and I'm sure there are a few more.

Carroll hasnt had enough time yet and while I hate Saban, he never really had his chance.

You could make a list twice the size of NFL coaches turned head coach and failed.

Definatly but I'll take my chances on the guy coaching in the leauge that he knows

Thats understandable but Meyer is a proven winner and doesnt have the "old school" mentality that I believe Cowher and Gruden hold.

TOM CLEMENTS WAS THE STARTING QUARTERBACK AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME, AND WAS FOURTH IN THE BALLOTING FOR THE HEISMAN TROPHY.

DURING HIS CANADIAN FOOTBALL CAREER, CLEMENTS HAD A CAREER TOTAL 2,807 PASS COMPLETIONS FOR 39,041 YARDS AND A TREMENDOUS 60.3% COMPLETION AVERAGE. HE WAS THE LEAGUE LEADER IN PASS ATTEMPTS/COMPLETIONS AND YARDAGE IN 1987, AND WAS ALSO THE CONFERENCE LEADER SEVEN TIMES.

Honestly I see Ross going all in to get a guy like Cowher or Gruden. He needs a big name to bring excitement back to South Florida football, a no name assistant won't do that. Urban Meyer is an interesting but unlikely option, I think he wants to take a nice long break from coaching. I wouldn't mind Tom Clements as OC.

Just say "No" to any more over-hyped, underqualified college HC flavors of the month who'd actually need to motivate grownups instead of intimidating school boys!
