What this team has shown me up to this point is actually quite exciting. They have shown that they are basically 2 players away from being legit contenders.

1- They basically need a CB that can intercept the ball to play opposite Will Allen and keep the rest of the CBs as our depth guys.

2- They basically need a big play wideout to play opposite Ginn Jr or Camarillo and keep the rest as depth guys(except cut Wilford, if you aren't going to start him).

We can basically fill out the depth spots with the upcoming draft and offseason. So really, if MIA doesn't cut Goodman, but replace him at the starting RCB spot with a big play CB and doesn't cut Camarillo or Ginn, but replace one of them as your starter with a big play speedy WR...then we would have no holes.

Now on an aside note, Tony Sparano has made some bad playcalling and bad game clock management...but he's a rookie HC, so he'll come around. Gulp, I hope. :D

I dunno about all that now. Just look at Cincinnati. They have all the right pieces but can't get them to come together. It all comes down to coaching and right now we need to take a serious look at our special teams and our defensive coordiantor's gameplan. I'm not saying fire anyone just yet, just maybe change a few things and toss what isn't working for us.

I agree... that the two biggest needs on our team are a #1 CB, and a #1 WR. As for superbowl... we have other needs as well. I mean if one guy on our o-line gets injured, we have zero backups. I'm not sure what to think of FB Casey Cramer. Starting Safety Renaldo Hill doesn't get a lot of ints.

ginn is NOT a number 2 WR. he is maybe a SLOT WR right now. Cam is our number 2 with[ a real number 1.

i think we're a bit more than 2 players away...we have all kinds of needs to fill...WR&CB for sure....LBs&a damn good NT...at least one of the Safety positions....QB? do we know for certain Henne is our QB of the future....good strong depth on our OL and DL...this loss sux,but we're on our way back up....

They also need to improve on the kick/punt coverage. I hold my breath everytime the ball is kicked....

AGREED!!! A #1 WR and #1 CB are the missing pieces IMO!!! but a SB contender... i think that might be too optimistic right now even if the missing pieces were found... remember joey porter and holliday are close to mid 30's and allen is getting into the 30's as well... so finding replacements for them can't be ignored... so in reality i would say 5 players away is more like it...

While it's true that we need a star WR and CB, that's far from all we need. This team needs depth in a big way. We need another youthful DL, we need a good #2 wideout, and don't get me started on special teams.

Ginn is a nobody who will never be anybody. He doesn't have any heart and limited skills at WR and it's pretty clear he's afraid of contact. He was a bad pick. People may as well get over it.

Superbowl!!! Superbowl!!!! Dont Talk To Me About Superbowl!!!! Lol!!!!

I agree. If we can bring in a young Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice, we might...just might...be contenders.

OK eddie martel we get it .he ain't a nobody...he's a never was!

agreed, we fill those 2 needs with studs and we are 3-4 wins better.

for a superbowl.. we have to get better on the o-line (these guys could work, they just need more time), we need to get another NT, we need a SOLB, we need 1 corner, 1 safety, 1 WR, if your talking next year, hope that Henne pans out and is ready to play, if your talking about in 3 years we need a new WOLB, another CB and another S, a new ILB and another #2 RB.

The oline i think will be great in time.
the dline, is a solid NT away from being good for potentially 10 more years.
The linebackers are great, another SOLB would be nice, but after 3 or 4 years we will need 3 new Lb'ers
For now the secondary is 2 players away, for the long term we need 4 new players
The widereceivers are 1 big playmaker away from being set for a while.
The runningback position is set with Ronnie.
TE is set with Fasano.

So this offseason we could make jet like moves and get really close and probably fall short, or we could keep drafting smart and avoiding the big name, wallet busting FA.
